Yes...i spoke with a gentlemen by the name of Jeff Connors.  He was very knowledgeable about the issues of the NFIB and he faxed me a membership dues slip to fill out with my bank info for $100.00.  There is a phone number on the bottom out of Boca Raton, FL and their website address.  www.NFIB.com however i could not find anything with the non 800 # on the form, nor could i find a NFIB location in Boca Raton, FL.  So this could or could not be legit.  I will not be filling out my bank info and faxing it back.  Even though things do look fairly in order...never can be too safe.

A lady called our business phone and identified herself as "Emily". She wanted my boss to call her back at 800-227-8514 to authorize the annual membership amount for NFIB to charge to his credit card. She refused to send a renewal form via USPS telling us that NFIB does not do renewals that way. (BTW, IF this is a SCAM, then sending it via USPS exposes them to a federal mail fraud charge.) "Emily" refused to answer why her CallerID was blocked Private. This certainly does not sound legitimate.

NFIB is a legit national lobby that promotes small business. I was a member at one time, but they are bulldogs when it comes to trying to get donations.

I received a message to call this person back regarding my tax information. They identified themselves as a member of the Small Business Group I am part of. One, I am not part of a Small Business Group that would not identify themselves by the group name. Two, only my CPA and myself have tax information that I require. In the past I have been a member of the NFIB, but this year I am not due to cost cutting. This is definatley a call to beware of.

This is not a scam.  My wife has worked for NFIB in Boca for 13 years.

They usually give you a working 800 number so you can call them back to be assured it is legit.

800 numbers are not necessarily legit...this company should be more forthcoming with information if it is legit.

Realise, I am not saying it is or it isn't legit, but companies that hide behind other things usually are not on the "up and up". We need to be cautious against the scammers that are out there.

I've gotten these calls from NFIB previously, so I recognize the call as coming from NFIB.  True, they give you an 800 number to call them back. I believe that's done as a courtesy, and as an opportunity to avoid having someone ask you to call them back at your expense so they can hit you up for re-upping your membership.

My understanding is that this particular group out of Boca Raton is targeting collection of dues or re-upping memberships.  I've spoken with them several times.

I've personally elected not to re-up and this is the third campaign in which I've been targeted.   My personal opinion of the job they are doing/should be doing is immaterial to this post---but I can confirm that NFIB does work this way soliciting membership of smaller businesses.

NFIB is definitely legitimate and has been around since the 1940's. They have a phone renewal crew out of Boca Raton. These guys are ruthless they'll tell you anything to get your check. You can always say to send somebody to your business.

Received a call from this number and "Logan Case" was very rude! If we are interested we would call back,we are not! She just kept on running her mouth and would not take NO for an answer
It would benefit them to just send information out and not call businesses, I have other important things to do other than argue with someone calling from NFIB!!

It is important to be careful when it comes to phone calls asking for money!  If you aren't sure just have them send someone to your office.

NFIB is a legitimate organization that has made some substantial headway on saving small business.

You shoud never have to argue with a caller regarding any matter, however, it is important that all small business looks at their attitude.  Are we really too busy to participate in saving our own businesses?  Everyone should take a look at the bills that NFIB killed that would have put us out of business.  Just sayin!

This is the number that a lady named Sandra Harris gave... said she worked for NFIB and wanted to "renew" our membership (we are not currently members)... I looked up the number and it belongs to a company called Paetec... I do not believe this is a legitimate call.

Most of you need to start reading the "news" part of the newspaper instead of just the comics. NFIB is the largest most influential business organization in America according to surveys by Fortune Magazine. The members of NFIB set the agenda and move the legislation that affects all your businesses. They were recently the lead plaintiff in the biggest case to be heard by the Supreme Court since Brown vs Board of Education (NFIB vs Sebelius) (Obamacare). If you are not a member, then you are letting the businesses that are members pay your way. However, they are also making the decisions on legislation for you. This is a true grassroots organization. If a rep comes to your door; LISTEN TO HIM! HE WILL HELP YOU UNDERSTAND!

Got a call from 800 227 8514, caller claimed to be from NFIB.  This is a great organization, we are members.

The problem is that she (Andi Hall) said that she could not send an invoice for the membership, we should either use a credit card or do an automated check transaction to pay for the membership renewal.  then they would send us a receipt.

Sorry, but this smells like NFIB is being scammed.  If not, NFIB needs to change their act, this is crazy to ask someone to give the keys to their credit card or bank account by phone to an unknown caller.

If anyone out there works for NFIB, suggest you call 800 227 8514 and ask whoever answers the phone to "share with you the benefit of their thinking."

Not only do these telemarketers from NFIB's Boca division call and solicit for more and more money each year(you can be a member of NFIB for only $125, so remember that when they call), they use FAKE names!  They totally disrespect the members and truly SCAM them.  Great organization?  Maybe they used to be, but they are all about the money now.

I received a call from a woman at a residential number asking us about renewing our membership for NFIB.  We are currently members, and we did want to renew.  However, she could not provide me with documentation before I gave her our credit card number.  She said she could only send a receipt afterwards.  I felt uncomfortable with that and asked if I could call her back.  She gave me the 800-227-8514 to call back.  I searched for the number and found this website.  I then went to the NFIB website and the number wasn't listed there.  I called the 800 number on the NFIB website, and they were able to transfer me throught to a call center and then to the woman that originally called me, who makes calls from her home.  So the number is legit in regards to NFIB.
