Call was to my cell phone saying I owed money that was going to be sent to a collection agency. I know I don't have any outstanding bills, and no-one has my cell # but friends and family

It is from Avista Utilities, most likely you are behind on a payment and they are scheduling a shut off of your services. I have also had them call me after moving, and them wanting to refund money on my old services.

Avista Utilities Also uses this number to remind it's 'Indentured Servitude' that their Winter Moratorium is over and for them to pay their erroneous and outlandish extortion fees! Do yourself a favor and report their extortion techniques to all 3 agencies: ftc.gov bbb.org and your States' Public Utilities Commission. Avista corrupts Governors and politicians with PAC Funding, which is the root of all political evil. Avista Utilities is an evil ruthless company, putting out false propaganda to keep pumping the flow of more and more outlandish profits on the backs of poor. Avista learned these ruthless tactics from part owners Bill Gates and Paul Allen, now major stock holders. The power grid is old dead technology and now they want to add more nuclear power which is also old dead technology, for more and higher profits, yet your bills will increase exponentially, as it has in every other State. Each time Avista gets caught cheating the people and slapped with fines, they go to the State for rate increases. Avista has killed the environment by damning up the rivers and using YOUR State resources for profit! Die Avista Die! And 'Jail, Baby, Jail!'

I too am receiving calls from this company telling me they are sending me to collections...funny, they have also called me from their local number which is in Idaho.  I'm living in Southern California so I have no idea where they got my number but I'm going to report them to the DNC registry if they don't stop harrassing me, like at 7.30am on a Saturday morning!

Actually I  just got off the phone with Avista and am very pleased with the way I was treated

Yeah the people from this company called me and didn't leave a voice mail. When I called them back and put in my phone number they said they didn't have me on record which is correct because I've never even heard of this company and I don't pay any bills except my cell phone and my car insurance. So yeah

I got a missed message on my cell phone,when I got home from work.Avista,said that my bill is paid.
So I asked ,why avista called me then? They said ,I have a scheduled power outage tomorrow,because
they are working on a transformer.They either replacing the transformer,or fixing it.I am not sure.
That's all it was to it.no big deal.

We moved and they apparently put the service from my husbands name to mine and sent his to collections. The attorney's office called my husband (does not pay the bills)and said you need to pay your avista bill, he told me and I paid the one I knew about!! I was served papers on the other 220$ bill and charged nearly 400$ in atty fees :(  I thought the government had measures in place to prevent scandalous monopolies like this?

Avista uses this # for various things, so don't block it. We lost power last week, when I called in they asked if I would like a phone call (robo-call) when the power is scheduled to come back on. I said yes and 8 hrs later, I received a call from this # as promised...the power came on.

This number continues calling me, and I have no accounts with Avista, no reason for any bill collections...why are they calling and calling, no message left? I do not answer calls that come in unknown, and do not appreciate calls no message left. If it is Avista, shame on them and how about leave a message if you believe you have any reason to call.

This number is from scams. I just got a call saying I need to pay my bill now. I dont even have an account with them!!! Beware!!!

Received a phone call from this number and the number is linked to Avista however they did not have any pertinent information that included my business as they called our business line. It was a scam. Avista Utilities will not call someone to tell them they’re getting their power shut off in 30 minutes as they told me. And since our bills are all paid I knew it was a scam. Just be cautious because they can mimic real phone numbers. You don’t want to give your info out over the phone unless you know exactly who it is. I ask many questions to frustrate them because the scammers don’t like when you ask questions.

Hispanic male called stating our bill was past due and that our service was scheduled for shut off today. Person could not provide an amount. Just a call back number of 509-435-9031. Bill was current so investigated number and found out it was a scam. The person was calling from a number entitled Avista Utilities: 800-227-9187.

Calls and says our power is getting cut off for non payment.

Call claimed they were going to shut off my electric service which is funny because i don't have electric service and haven't since mid-2018 when I moved out.

Just received a call showing the Avista number on caller ID. Woman's voice said they were disconnecting my electrical service because of non-payment. Interesting since I do not have Avista service. I hung up and reported to the real Avista customer service. They have received several complaints.

Got a call saying this number is from my local utility company Avista and pre-recorded message saying my services were being shut off within 30 minutes due to non payment.  I requested the agent that came on the line to provide me with verification information and she couldnt and put me on hold. I hung up.  Then I contacted my utilities company and they verified i do not owe anything and my services are not scheduled for shut off and that this call is a scammer and they have spoofed their number.
