I received  2 messages from this # one on my cell  and the other at my job phone. it stated that they are calling from the American Express financial review team and they were calling to discuss an important matter.   I called American express and they told me this is not they. First of all they will never ever call you at your job phone and they would send you a letter.  Hope this helps others.

Scam, no credit card company needs your tax documents.

‭+1 (800) 230-1289‬ 8/24/19 this number called and said it was Amex financial something. But it was such a typical scam sounding scripted call and I said I don’t have time and they said they would email me regarding this. No email and recently my Amex had fraudulent charges so I’m guessing they part of the same team. Plus the big give away is that this number is on here as a scam number. Thanks y’all

From what I see here, who know if this is AMEX or scam so this dies not help. Can anyone verify this is or is not AMEX....please don't reply if you don't know for sure as this dies not help anyone and no attitude please as we are all just tryibg to defend out money. Thanks

Well, if it was me, I would look up American Express on the internet or look at the back of my card or on my card statement and then call them at a known, published phone number.  But that would just be me, so I guess you will have to wait for someone to answer your question and then hope and pray that they are telling the truth.

I received a call and left a voicemail to call the same number at ext 492-2060 and available from 6am until 2:30 am.  I googled it and it does not belong to American Express.

Received an email from "Geek Squad" saying they are auto renewing my bill in the amount of $499. (I've never done business with them.) This phone number was provided to call if I had any questions.

Email claiming to be "Squad by Symantec" with auto-renewal to my credit/debit card for some bogus windows antivirus. With a number to call. That's a switch, instead of spam phone calls, they send bogus email enticing me to call them. "Squad by Symantec" scam.

Called saying they were from American Express.
This was a scam.
Amex said this is not their number.
