Called and asked for one of our employees by name. When I told him he was not available, the caller asked if that employee was the decision-maker on our telephone and internet services. Agreed to leave a message. Not sure if this is a valid company or not.

Received a voice mail message with 800-234-5290 as the return number.  The caller said he was calling "on behalf of Qwest" which is our telephone provider.  He then gave a brief description of an available service which we already have through Qwest.  Apparently there was no information coming from Qwest to them.  My Qwest representitive indicates that there are companies out there using the Qwest name to "SLAM" phone service (change phone providers with false pretenses).  

BEWARE!!!

Yesterday someone called from this number. The female asked for my name and I just said "this is the receptionist" and she hung up. I never give my name if I don't know who is calling because some of these SCAMS use the name as an approval for whatever it is that they are calling for.

Sazys the are calling on behalf of Qwest and will not give any information why they are calling unless they talk to someone specific.

Called back and finally got them to tell me the company name of Harland Clark. They are a third party telemarketing service for qwest, etc.

Requested to be removed from being contacted.

Some guy called asking for a person that I had never heard of, then asked if it he had reached a company with the same name as the person he wanted. When I told him that it was a private cell phone, he hung up.

I received a call from this number and did not answer to see if they left a voicemail. They did not, so I called the number back (after looking at this page) to see what they would say. They answered the phone "Thank you for calling Qwest. How many I direct your call?" I have never inquired about Qwest nor know how they got my cell phone number.

"Helen" phoned our main switchboard and left a vague voicemail about our phone sytem solutions and is expecting a phone call back, a call she will not receive. My small busniness has now been targeted by the toner scam, the yellow pages scam and now it appears we're targeted for the phone slamming scam. These scammers have yet to succeed with us, but boy do they try. I appreciate 800 Notes for this valuable corroboration. Thanks to all who posted before me.

Voice mail left from this number.  Someone named Liz said she was with Century One Communications and that we already had a service with them.  Which we do not.  Requested a call back from the person responsible for phone and internet to discuss our "current services".  This will not happen either.  Are legitimate jobs that tough to find out there?
