It is WE Energy... left recorded message re: Welcome (to using our services);

This is a legitimate number from WE Energies, customer service.  I didn't recognize the number, but knew they were supposed to call me back regarding a service order.

I received three calls from this number this afternoon within 9 minutes.  None of these calls were answered because my answering machine was off.  However, I called this number this evening and found it to be a legitimate WE Energies telephone number.  I also confirmed from a live operator that WE Energies did not initiate the three calls bearing this number this afternoon.  They suggested it may have been a SCAMmer SPOOFing their number and attempting to harvest private information.  So should you receive a call from this number, DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL.  Instead, let it go to voicemail.  If the voicemail sounds legitimate, then call WE Energies back at this number and ask about the reason for the call.

Got a call from this number -- didn't pick up, no message left.  I agree with the above comment, that this may be a spoofed scam call:  I used to live in Wisconsin (and still have a cell number with a Wisconsin area code), but I haven't been a WE Energies customer for many years... so I doubt the authenticity of this call.  I agree, it's best to let any unfamiliar number go to voicemail -- then, if necessary, research the number and call the actual company directly.  Thanks 800Notes and thanks for above comments.

We are a business in northeastern Illinois.  Received call with caller ID showing legitimate WE Energies phone # 800-242-9137. Automated message said there would be a disconnection of service in 30 minutes due to non-payment of bill. Not true of course since we are in Illinois and wouldn't get our electric/gas service from Wisconsin Energy.  Told to call 800-981-7902 immediately.  Likely a scam using a spoofing caller ID to appear legitimate. Pathetic!

Received two calls claiming they were from WE Energy 800-242-9137 at our Business.  Both times they hung up when I told them that this call is being recorded

Called and said my service was being disconnected for non payment.  I do not recall having service with WE-Energies.  Checked out the call back number and it said it was from India.

Well its 3 hours later and we have power. We called the number back and it is legit but has been spoofed. They said they get calls like this every day. We are not even a WE Energies customer morons. The scam is, people get this automated message, then later a live person will say we will leave power on if you give us payment now over the phone.

It is a SPOOFED number for WE Energies.  My bill is paid in full (we are a business).  The recording said our power would be shut off due to an outstanding bill - baloney!!!

Remember me?  I gave an extensive diagnostic of this number on 5 Feb 2019 to this list after I had received three calls from this number in a short space of time and reported I'd called WE Energies directly to confirm my account was fully paid.  I reported then this number as a SPAM call.  Well, they did it again today but this time on my cell phone!  And I had forgotten what I had written to this list on 5 Feb 2019, calling WE Energies yet again to confirm my account is paid up!  "Fool me once, shame on you;  fool me twice, shame on me!"

Claimed to be from B of A calling on a past due atm charge . Used the old push 1 to speak to with an agent..

left a message stating they were We Energies and that my account was going to be disconnected.  I don't have a We Energies account.  I emailed the customer service at We Energies letting them know their phone number is being used in scam calls.

THIS IS NOT THE ACTUAL COMPANY- THIS IS A SCAM! Received 2 calls same day from these people. It is not We Energies like they claim. This is a scam!

In Spanish... that said my. Meeter was gonna get replayed.. i had 45 min ... she have me a number i called it.. all we energies proms... she gave me a numberber to call the person was rude & hug up on me spam

Did not answer. Call came up from 414-246-5290 which had negative reviews...but voicemail.said to call 800-242-9137...also suspected spam.

This is a scam.  Recording said my electricity will be shut off in 30 minutes due to delinquent bill.  My payments are not delinquent.  I called the real electric company who indicated this is a scam.
