- LizzyAnn| 1 replyI star 67 the number and got the recording to go to the www.unclaim.org website. I went to this website and could not find anything. I type in my name and nothing came up. Then I start searching the Internet and found out this is a scam.
- BigA replies to LizzyAnnFirst, you cannot block you number when calling a toll free phone. They pay for the call so they have the right to know who is calling. There is no need to go to a site like that. Every state has their own web site set up. This company will charge you money to "search" for your property, something that can easily be done for free. Hopefully you did not give them too much information.
- CWG40Any communication received from US mail which appears fraudulent should be taken down to the local post office so that the postal inspectors can take a look at it. This could be mail fraud.

- South Dakota Unclaimed Property DivisionThis number appears on post cards sent out by an unknown party. It is answered by automated service which refers the caller to www.unclaimed.org. This is the site for NAUPA, the National Association for Unclaimed Property Administrators. The state unclaimed property divisions subscribe to missingmoney.com, which is the search used on the NAUPA site. Many simply link to the official state web site. We are not sure why someone is mailing the postcards. We have yet to find any property in our database for the individuals who receive these cards. If you would like to search for unclaimed property from an official state site, go to that state's government website and link from it. Be suspicious of third party sites and never pay anyone to locate your unclaimed property. This service free from the state divisions.
