I received a text message from 774-53 with an alert about my car warranty expiring. I DO NOT HAVE A CAR WARRANTY. The number to call to avoid coverage termination is 800-249-9821. Texted STOP and blocked this phone number......

Just curious, did you happen to buy a car at Carmax? I just bought a car from them about 6 weeks ago and got the same text. I don't give my cell number to anyone ever, except I had to give it to them to call me when my car arrived. Without my knowledge or consent they put it all over my car paperwork and definitely gave it to Sirius who has been calling me during work trying to sell me a car subscription. Just trying to figure out if the dealer is responsible for this one too.

I also received the exact text! I have never purchased a vehicle from CarMax nor do I have a warranty!!!

I bought from a Ford Dealer and got a text to call this number about a warranty also.

Just got one as well, to a number I DON'T use.

This has nothing to do with CarMax or any other dealer. Somehow they have a way to find out if you've bought a car lately from ANYONE. I got mine from someone else and I've been getting cards and info with the manufacturer on it to look more legitimate, but in TINY print they admit they've nothing to do with the actual manufacturer or seller.

Telemarketing, basically.

Scam. I just bought a care from a local BHPH and do not have a warranty. I opted out. This is a scam.

They just blanket phone numbers and hope to get someone who is interested. They texted me too.  If anyone knows the company I am interested because you recover $500 per text minimum.  I called the number back, but it is no good.

Answered the phone and it was a recording of a woman speaking a foreign language. I don't speak any other language except for English, but if I had to guess, it was Chinese or a similar language. I blocked the number.
