could not under stand the phone message to much static but it was a bill collector

I finally got through to a human, a lot of good that did! The call was obviously overseas in a foreign country. His accent was very heavy. Again could not understand the name of the company. He asked me to give him my phone number so he could see who they were trying to call. I was very clear when I gave the number. I went slow and spoke each number clearly and he still couldn't get it right! By the time he got it right and I found out they were really looking for me, I had had enough and told them no one lived here by that name. I refuse to deal with a company overseas. Perhaps if enough of us start doing that these companies will quit outsourcing their telemarketing overseas!

Got the call! phone rang all week twice a week. I spent two days trying to get through to this number. Alas! I did. As heated as I was, I was the perfect image of calm and understanding. This allowed me to get to the bottom of this.

Got a voicemail from this number earlier.  My phone never rang.  Could not undestand the message.  All static, so I had to go online and search who had called my cell.  This number came up.

Received a call from this number this morning; there's so much static, you can't understand what they're saying. However, when I called back, the company name is said in a manner so you WON'T understand it, and they ask you to hold. Who has time?

they left a message saying it was a collection company for colubia house. i've never had business with them so they're full of crap. how did they get my number anyway?

This is an old type of scam known as a Nigerian Phone Scam. The idea is they call you, tell you something is required of you (personal info so they can scam you even more) or else something bad will happen (get fined thousands of dollars in "illegal downloads"). The companies that are set up are bogus fronts that aren't real (Takhar Group seems legit, however it isn't even listed in the New York Times' business directory or on Wikipedia). The trick is, just ignore the call/text and put the number on your block list.
