Caller ID said Kevin Woodard, but the message was left to call miss Reyes at the 800-258-5314 about the accident.  I know full well that plenty of scammers and ne'er-do-wells troll through accident reports.  

FYI, the accident occurred in Milwaukee, WI, in a lower income area.  Our zip and mailing address is from a much better off area.  I say mailing address as that is the Post Office it goes to, but we don't live in that city.  Checking another forum, it appears to be people who try to set up doctor's visits.  

Intriguingly, the other party was hispanic, and the caller left a hispanic surname.  And, we have unlisted number, so I am a little annoyed the wife gave the home phone.

When we were contacted just days after being rear-ended in Brookfield the caller stated her name was Tonya, not La Toya.  I repeated the name back to her as I took down the number.  She stated that 'they' handle the medical portion of 'the accident claim'.  It all sounded off to me, and I decided to look them up.  The Wellness Center was not listed and a reverse search yielded no results, I decided to call the number back and get some more info.  She answered as Ms. Rayes and I asked if it was Tonya (who had called).  She stated that it was.  I informed her that my husband and I didn't understand who they were or why they'd called.  At that point she told me that they (The Wellness Center) assist people in finding a doctor after an accident and that the reason I couldn't find the listing is because they are based out of Atlanta.  I looked them up again in Atlanta only and, again, could not find "The Wellness Center".

What is odd is that our home phone number IS listed and that is the number called, but is NOT the number given to officers at the scene nor the number that our Insurance agent uses.  We were rear-ended by a person who inferred that they could not afford the accident... hmm...  I was told two slightly different reasons for the call by the same person.  We'd love to find out who really phoned us and why!

I got an identical call several days after I was rear-ended on 41 in Wauwatosa. I also thought it suspicious. I wouldn't give them any information unless they can give you a good reason for the call and who they are with.

I imagine it to be an ambulance chasing type of scam.

I recieved a similar call from "Clarence" from the "Doctor Wellness Group", wanting to know how I was feeling after my recent car crash just east of Barker Rd. on I-94W.  It sounded invasive and fishy, so I blew him off.  He called back AGAIN a couple of days later.  He knew more about the crash - that I was hit by an OWI driver.  He wanted to "make sure I was okay after an accident that wasn't my fault."  I told him I would only discuss the issue with my doctor.  "Okay, bye."  Sleezy scammers!
