- Sierra replies to No big deal...They arent legit I had fallen for their scheme and they say it only costs like 5 bucks but then they charge your credit card for 60...every month!! My Mom called them and they said you can not cancel the subsciption, she said BS you can always cancel any subscription, you just pay that month's and then it ends. She then told them they were a scam and the lady asked well then why did you agree to the terms. My mom said we didnt you said it was 5 bucks! We then cancelled my credit card and got the charges looked into and bam I got all my money back. TAKE THAT STUP SCAM PEOPLE!!!

- DrewI received this call a little while ago, they knew my name and address, my new address that I've only had for a few days, so I figure it was something I signed up to online on a game I played, since they offer reward points for signing up to random sites, and I signed up for a few within the last 2 days.
Magazines, that's what they said they were, didn't give me a company name, I asked for a call back number, they gave me the number that came up on the caller ID. But here's now the call went.
The guy told me that for being a loyal customer, I was to receive free magazines, and my monthly price was only $19.65, like 5 different ones, he ask if I had a credit card, I told him I don't, bank account, said I don't. He didn't give me any details about magazines until I said something about my subscription to GameInformer. He also claimed to be a trainie, and that he only had the codes of the magazines, and he didn't know what was what. He acted like I already had a long time subsciption with them or something, and the only thing I've had is a year subsciption to game informer, which I got 7 months ago. After I said GameInformer, he started asking me about what games I play, and I was thinking (Yea, trying to be friendly now?), I told him a few games I play, then he starts saying I will receive free copies of other game magazines, a list of magazines in the mail, and if I don't want it, I can call and cancel it.
Oh, and his name was Ed, after all of the, he "transferred" me to his "Superviser" who just happened to be listening. Didn't go on hold or anything, it seemed like he just handed her the phone. I didn't get her name. She started asking me how the "trainiee" was, then she said he's been working there for 2 weeks, then I started thinking (A 2 week trainie doesn't know the magazines codes?) and asked if she should keep him, I said yea, sure, he was nice. asked what price he gave me, and his name he gave me. Then she asked me what music I liked (wtf, why do you care?) ok, rock music, metal music, shes like ok, well send you a rolling stones cd(or something like that, I was kinda spacing out at this point).
Then I started saying I should cancle the addidtion to my account(I didn't have one in the first place, I didn't give card # or bank #, so she said, well, we can send your details in the mail, and if you don't want it, you can call and cancle it (This goes on for like 3-4 times, and finally she says" ok, fine, I will send the details in the mail, I'm like ok, but remove it from my account for now then? She said fine, and then hangs up.
No more signing up to random things online (I never give card/bank details on those things, just phone/address/name, which I know I shouldn't do that either.
The guy seemed real nice, the lady seemed like a b****.

- Lawrence replies to coolguyHere is what I found because I asked them. It is also how I got this phone number. I applied for a marketing survey. Soon it all starts I answered a marketing survey from Nelson Research Group Off the radio. Apparently this all goes back to GrocerySavers.com and as you can see by all the responses to this number the scam is far and wide and has been going on since at least 2001. Please see FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, Plaintiff, v. MAGAZINE SOLUTIONS, LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, also d/b/a MAGAZINESOLUTIONS, UNITED PUBLISHERS’ SERVICE, READ-N-SAVE AMERICA, You can just Google it. Any way I called my CC company after I realized it is a scam and got a phone number from them. 1888-992-3466 That is who placed the charge to my account of course there is no name when the phone is answered and because of the very thick African accent you must ask them many times to repeat them selves but I finally got this out of them. {Name of company is Stonebridge Benefits, Not true or if it is they are related to Stonebridge Casualty Insurance Company, Stonebridge Life Insurance Company, Penny JC Financial Services, Or Aegon Direct Marketing a fortune 500 company. The address is 2700 West Plano Parkway Plano, Texas. You can Googel this as well.
- BIG MIKETHIS IS DEFINATELY A SCAM!! I MEAN, THEY CALLED ME AND HAD SOMEHOW OBTAINED ALL MY INFORMATION!! I MEAN ARE WE SAFE ANYMORE.. MAKES YOU WONDER AND THINK.. THESE SOLICITORS ARE DOING ILLIGAL THINGS ON THE PHONE AND SOMEHOW THEIR "COMPANY" GETS AWAY WITH IT WITH MILLIONS IN THEIR POCKETS, YET SOMEHOW GETTING A PARKING VIOLATION IS WAAAAYYY MORE DERASTIC THAN THESE PEOPLE THATS OBTAINING OUR ADDRESSES AND CREDIT INFORMATION. AND ON TOP OF THIS THEY WANTED MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!! I MEAN REALLY! UGH NOT ONLY CAN THEY FIND ME, KILL ME AND GET AWAY WITH IT, BUT ALSO THEY COULD STEAL MY IDENTITY, WHAT I WANNA KNOW IS: WHAT DOES THE GOVERNMENT WANT TO DO TO GET RID OF PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY COSTING US MONEY AS A NATION!!

- double thinkerI wonder what would happen...
what If some a**hole forwarded all these calls to 911?
what If Everyone did it. What kind of mess would that be?
You think it would get someones attention then?
This would be hard to ignore. - JenieI had this company call me today, claiming that I had signed up for some magazines and should have been recieving them for the passed several months. I told the girl I believe her name was Ciniqua - that I never signed up for anything and I dont recognize the company she was with. The then transfered me to her "supervisor" that needed to verify my billing information with me. He (ray) then proceeded to recite number for number the information on my Checking account and debit card. I do not give these numbers out nor shop online. When I asked to speak with his supervisor he hung up on me. Being that the call was extremely suspicious to me I pulled up my checking account information and this company debited 57.48 from my checking account 3 times! I immediatly put a fraud hold on all of my accounts until I can get this resolved. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE SCAM YOU!

- pissed off studenti got a call from them this morning. they said that i had ordered some magazines from them about 5 years ago. I just moved into an apartment and somehow they already knew my address. The guy i talked to on the phone was a slimeball and was saying things like " you have a sexy voice " and " you better tell you boyfriend to hold on to you " When i asked if they could show me some proof or documentation of when i purchased these magazines, all they could do was say that they need a credit card number first. hhaha nice try.
- mad cell ownerI screen my calls, but the number is calling my cell, I am glad I looked it up, it called 3 times in one day. its starting to get annoying!
- bobnumerous unwanted calls but not sure how to stop them
- CamI recieved a phone call from this number today and they said the magazines I ordered had been paid for and all i needed to do was pay for the shipping which was $19.16. I didn't pay for any magazines because i didn't order any magazines. They asked where I banked at and they asked for a credit card number. I told them I was not interested and then they kept asking if the 3rd of every month was fine for them to take money out of my account.
