- real-truth replies to Nicole| 1 replyAny communications company can access general account information. They do not directly sell for Verizon, they highjack people away from verizon and then put their charges on the verizon bill because of access the government has given them through legislation "securing portability and competition". However like everything else the government tries to fix, it just opened new problems. Know who you are dealing with, if you have any doubts call Verizon from a number on your bill and ask them. Buyer beware!
- no one can put charges on your bill replies to real-truthYou can contact your phone provider and tell them to BLOCK 3rd party billings to your phone bill.
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS IMPORTANT STEP - you risk being CRAMMED

11."Cramming": When monthly charges pop up on your telephone bill for optional services that you never authorized such as voice mail, paging, or club membership, it's called "cramming." You may be asked to return a missed call because it’s 'Your lucky day' and you’ve won a trip to Las Vegas. When the call is made, an automated system is activated and you are unknowingly enrolled in a club or program, and the charge is placed on your phone bill. The crammer might not even need to do anything except simply pick your phone number out of the blue and place charges on your bill through your local telephone company, claiming that you agreed to purchase some services.
Look at your bill closely every month. Charges for optional services should be itemized and show the name of the company providing them and its phone number. If you did not authorize the services, call that number and insist that they be canceled and the charges removed from your bill.
Also, consider putting a third party block on your phone service. It's often free and it does not let any third party add charges to your phone bill. - Me replies to ChanceScam - Originally identified themselves as from Verizon. When I pushed the representative she admitted that she was calling from National Communications LLC. She offered to send me an email with documentation on Verizon letterhead that she was legitamate - like I'd believe anything she sent. I hung up with her, called Verizon and they never heard of the company. Called National Communications back (just for fun) and now they are offering to send me a 'comfort letter'. REALLY???? Let me crawl back up on the turnip truck so I can fall off again - NOT!

- M CSupposedly calling from regarding our Verizon bill. Supposedly our "discount" is ending & she is calling to see that our "discount" is "renewed". When you call the number it says National Communications.
- Caller: National Communications
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Carol| 1 replySame deal. She asked for my name. I kept asking about what the call was about. She kept insisting she was from Verizon I kept asking questions. I told her I wasn't interested in discount plans and hung up. I'm concerned they may try to slam me. What should I do?
- Caller: National Communications
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MJG replies to CarolIf you said "YES" to any of the questions, call the real Verizon & inform them of the call. I believe you can put a hold on your account so no one can change your carrier without your consent.
- bob whiteJust don't give them your name. Verizon would know who the "person responsible" for the account was and not have to ask for your name. If your discount is expiring, check other companies. You can likely get a better deal anyway.
- SpotVerizon always calls with Verizon on the caller ID
