- rather not say| 3 repliesThese people are very very rude! They call if you are a day late and they harass the hell out of you. I would never ever do business with this bank again. My husband left me and I do not have the money to pay them and I have explained it to them and I even have an attorney involved. They put you on their automatic dialers and call me on the hour every hour all weekend and during the week as well. Most of the time I just ignore the calls. They are calling me at work as well for which I have told them that I am not allowed to receive calls at work and if they jeopardize my job then I guess they really have no chance of getting a penny from me. They try to threaten me with "well this is what's goign to happen...." I tell them they can threaten me all they want but the fact of the matter is that I now have income and I have to put a roof over my son's head and food in his mouth not to mention a vehicle to get to and from work with and insurance. So, unless they have made some magical money tree that was planted in my back yard, I cannot pay you. Try calling my husband as his name is on the account too and I hang up the phone. I understand that I owe them the money and if I could pay them, I would. Harassing people during a very difficult time is just ridiculous. They said that if I have to file bankruptcy that they will still call me for which I believe is illegal.

- in a jam replies to rather not sayI also have a Wells Fargo account that is past due. I have recently put it on a consolidation account (CCC Indy). I had a lady call me and threaten me and ask me if I could sell my pet to get the money to pay the account!!!! I called CCC frantic and she said that they work on a commission and they get a certain amount when they get you to pay. She said that the government hasn't stepped in to help consumers out with the harassment for some reason but just to ignore them and they would take care of it. The lady at Wells Fargo even tried to tell me that they don't work with CCC or any consolidation bills and when I talked to the lady at CCC she said that they were actually one of their biggest clients and the lady was lying to try to get me to pay. I also know they work with them because I had a Wells Fargo account in the past on a debt consolidation plan. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and to not take any of their "Bull." They will say/do what they can to get you to pay so that they can get their commission. I think it's ridiculous that they are allowed to do this. I see that you too are having trouble with paying. You may check into a reputable consolidation company. We will have all our credit card bills payed off in 3 years and I can't wait! We had to do 2 different plans but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Well, I wish you the best!
- Nick replies to Me| 1 replyme to...same thing sounds like a telemarketer..
- AllieRoI am up to date with payments on my Wells Fargo account, but there is still a rotating balance. Even though my payments are not late, they are still calling me to pay off the balance. They have also lowered my credit limit SIGNIFICANTLY. You have to understand the position Wells Fargo is in at this time. They are one of the next banks to file for bankruptcy and I believe they are taking whatever steps they can to avoid that position. I also have the regional office calling me weekly trying to buy up all my debt and charge me a ridiculous interest rate. They almost seem desperate...
- phoenix1322| 2 repliesHey Everyone, please be careful of this number.. There is a new technology out there called "caller ID spoofing." Telemarketers and "phishers" use the "spoof" to look like a legit bank; in this case, Wells Fargo. Don't answer, or if you do, hang up. They aren't legit and if you give out information, they will use it to steal your money / identity.
Here's how it works. There are websites that let you enter your number, the number you want to call and the number you want to show up on that person's caller ID. All the telemarketer / phisher has to do is put a legit bank phone number as the caller ID and bingo, they appear legit. Sucks doesn't it? Go to www.donotspoof.org and put your number on the registery. People can't spoof call you then. - mikeYou may have an account with Wells Fargo Financial even if you don't realize it. Any time you get a credit account through a retailer, ie. Lowe's, Home Depot, Macy's etc.. A credit account is opened with a bank. I used to work for Wells Fargo and they are by far the worst for customer service. It's all about sales sales sales.

- CoryI sent a certified "cease and desist" letter to Wells Fargo Financial to stop having their collection agency call me but they still call. Can I sue them for this after I mailed them? In the letter, I told them to not call me and I will only entertain communication by mail. What can I do?
- lThis is a scam. They have other phone numbers like 1-800-304-8519. Same automated mans voice but he goes by Mr Newman when using that line. I had one lady contact my parents and called my brothers cell phone. That was kind of odd. They said I owed for a past medical debt of $3000 something but would settle for 55% less. I asked what is was for and I wanted the dates. She said she would have to order the paperwork and call me back. I've never heard from them again.

- Chris| 1 replyToday was the first day that I received calls from this number. I had no idea who it was or what it was about. I got four calls from them. I finally picked up on the fourth call because I was just tired of them calling me, and to be honest I only recently got this cell phone number within the past month, and I have only told friends and relatives what my phone number is. So how they got my phone number is beyond me....especially since I have no bank accounts with Wells Fargo at all. Anyway they kept me on hold for about 20 minutes and then they eventually hung up on me. I have no idea what the call was about or going to be about. So I can only assume that it is a phisher call and that someone is trying to scam our bank information out of us for money. Does the FTC still have a complaint form for these types of calls?

- Wavemasher replies to jay| 19 repliesAs a professional call center director, what cops would you call? Debt paper is sold on a monthly basis and several companies I handle deal in the millions of accounts that have a reported debt. My favorite is the BBB which is useless unless the State, City and the company is registered in that state NOt yours. Don't waste your time-research the FDCPA. Under this credit law a company with an account can call LEGALLY 7 days a week from 8AM-to at least 8 PM and in most to 9 PM.
Attempt to answer if it is a legitmate call then find out the nature of ther call. You do not have to verify your SSN. If the call representative doesn't answer your question excelerate the cal and ask for a manager. If none is available state clearly: You do not want any further telephone calls at this number. Then register your number with the DNC. This is only good for TRUE telemarketing but if you filled out a form online for anything then this doesn;t work-you gave implict permission to be called. We get telephone numbers usually from Pizza orders or anything ordered from an address and it could be one of your friends or relatives the company is looking for. Getting upset over the time of day only works if the call is 15 minutes off in either parameter-see FDCPA-chill and understand the law and not the posts on this site that contain mostly urban myth. - JSI received phone calls from 800-266-6932 Wallsfargo Financial. It is several times a day and when I asked them what is your emergency, they said it is the personal business that they can't able to discuss. The person they are looking for is not in my business but they calls everyday.

- Ctrl-R replies to angry consumer| 2 repliesI think this number has voice recognition and listens for you to say hello. I usually don't answer with hello, since they are calling a business number, and I haven't gotten an answer. The last time I answered Hello and I got a person. When I told them they had a wrong number they said they were sorry and would remove the number from their list.
