PIECE OF GARBAGE salesperson called with blocked number, then lied and said that our company had an outstanding invoice that was now a 3rd party issue and they couldn't give any info about it and the owner had to call back.  She left this number 800-266-7248.  She called back to find that it was a TELEMARKETER.

They are called ARS (Attorney Recovery Systems) and they are slime buckets.

Trying to sell collection services to small business. Saying the were calling about a past due invoice just to try and get through to the owner or CFO. What an underhanded way to do it. We used them once years ago and they did a very poor job.

Robert Parker, if that was even his name, had the nerve to leave a voicemail saying they worked for 'a law firm'. Who does not leave the name of their law firm? Shame on them!

Same here.  A Robert Parker who worked for a "law firm" had important issues to discuss with me and wanted me to call back.  Hope you aren't holding your breath, Mr Parker, because you will not be getting a return call from me.

Caller's CID was hidden (Unknown external call) but he did Identify his company as ARS, Attorney Recovery System, Inc (Fancy for debt collection services) attempting to solicit their services. This company is a repetitive nuisance caller.

Alexis from Attorney Recovery Service also uses another phone number 469-283-9748.  THESE ARE SCAM ARTISTS.

Allan Abrams at extension 248 called from "ARS" with some of our company info. I asked him to please stop calling us/remove from the calling list. He became aggressive, continued to talk over me, bully me into staying the phone, etc etc, so I hung up.

It's legitimate collection agency with sleazy marketing tactics. Allan Abrams spoke first with our controller, then left a message for me claiming our controller had recommended him. He didn't. Allan told him we used them in the past and threw out my old boss's name who hasn't worked here in over 5 years. Also in his message he claimed he needed to discuss a "financial matter" with me. I hope he's not waiting around for me the call.

From other posts, it seems they like to tell lies to get a call back and I take that as a sign of bad intentions.

Just called again and left a message that his V.P. was going to be in the area next week. Would like to meet for a few minutes. They are based in Tarzana. Just a few miles from my location. Also stated twice that he & I had had a very nice talk a while ago. We never spoke. So I'll go with sleazy, but still licensed.

Allen Abrams said he was a lawyer with ARS Law Firm, located in Dallas and wanted our owner to help us collect on our debt.  I told him no thank you, said have a good day and hung up.  This sleaze ball called back and started trying to bully me and tell me how to answer the phone and take messages.  I looked up the number and see they are a collection agency, not a law firm.  They are in California, not in Dallas ... I called back to let him know I was on to his lies and not call again.  Told him he's with a collection agency, that I worked for one 8 years and he knows what could happen if he calls again.

Whenever someone tells you that they are a "lawyer", the first question you should ask is what state(s) they are registered in and their BAR number for that/those state(s).  Then go to that state and check them out, contact them directly using the information in the state registration, as these crooks have been known to research real law firm names and attorney names and impersonate them.
First, you should make a complaint at this Federal Agency, and while there you should also read up on how debt collection is supposed to work as well as what your rights in this matter are:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Sleazy Justin Gordon  selling recovery services for businesses . He lies that he talked with me couple of months ago and he is going to stop by and collect our unpaid invoices and revolver them.
