I have been dealing with these con artists for YEARS...they are total scammers and have made money off of us in the past...I finally got wise because of sites like this on the internet....Now when they call I either A. Put them into the eternal hold void  or B. Tell them we need to do a confimation conference call with the school district they claim to be with and they hang up or get angry.

I get angry because these scumbags are STEALING AND LYING to hard working business owners.
They also go by several other names, UNIVERSAL ADCOM, HOMETOWN PRODUCTIONS, PREMIER MAP, ETC. ETC. ETC.

just found this website, boy is it great.  Our business got this call yesterday but from 330-793-8932, asked for President of our Firm.   Wanted to sell advertising for a local hospital.   Won't be calling them back after hearing all this bad news.

I work for a small business in SC.  Tim Newman from this place has called many times over the past couple of months.  The first time I spoke with him, he tried to tell me he was with Fort Jackson, where we'd done some work last year.  Knowing from the number that showed up on Caller ID, I knew he wasn't from the Fort, so I asked him what department he was in there.  He told me "no particular department," which, if I hadn't already known he was a liar, that would have sold me because if you work at a military installation, you know which department you're in.  He got extremely frustrated with me because I like to keep these guys on the phone as long as possible, making their jobs difficult.  When he asked why I wouldn't let him speak to the owner (who he knew by name), I told him it was because I didn't believe anything he was telling me.  I think he actually gasped and was shocked that I hadn't fallen for his story.  Of course, the number that came up on caller ID was a local number - 803-779-5800 - and when Googled, it comes up as University Sports Publications.  After I made him angry enough, he said he'd just call back later (as if that's going to do him any good).  He's tried several more times, but our receptionist, who is nicer than I am, just tells him our owner isn't available.  He called again this morning, and when he told me who he was, I said, "Tim, you've called here several times and lied about who you're with.  You're not at Fort Jackson."  He interrupted and asked, "Well, who am I with then?"  I told him he's with some magazine publication (I couldn't remember the name right off!), and he told me that wasn't true.  I asked for his phone number, and he said, "779..."  Click.  He hung up on me. Ha!  I called back because I remember the number and asked for him.  His receptionist asked for my name and company name, so I gave them to her.  She put me through, and I got his voicemail.  I called back and asked her to give him a message - that I know he's with University Sports Publications, that he's a liar and that he should never call here again.  If he does, I'll file a complaint with the FTC.  She told me that Lee handles those calls (apparently they get so many they have a dedicated person) and that she'd put me through but that if I get his voicemail to leave a message.  Of course, I got voicemail, so I left one.  We'll see if they try again.

received several calls from these people.  but something seemed odd, so I called the school district they claim they are representing (Westfield BOE in NJ).    so I called the school who is still investigating whom these people are and why are they using their name to solicit monies.

called my company wanting to know what size ad I want for the school directory.  Even came up with the school name.  Wants $7500 for a full page ad, $3,950 for a 1/2 page.  It's not a company associated with the schools.  Do the schools actually get a directory?  idk  I just block the calls

We are a small business construction contractor-the company somehow found we are doing work at a school district and solicited ad business.  We do not advertise this way-and any contributions our company makes goes DIRECTLY to people in the school system.  This company is NOT legit-I checked with the superintendent for the district. Continued calls will be reported to ILL Atty Generals office.
