called while I was gone and didn't leave a message.  I have been getting a rash of charities calling lately. It may have been one of the zillions that my phone number was sold to and now I get calls from places I didn't know existed!

Just found the number, this is a charity organization out of Salem, Oregon called Find the Children.

I get soooo many of these every day! I don't answer and I never post a comment, but thought I would this time because my caller ID said Feed the children and yet some are seeing it as Find the children. Perphaps this number needs to figure out which charity they are going to be!

This is a charity organization out of Salem, Oregon called Find the Children. They just had a big story about the 25 most lowsy charity organizations that rip people off. One of the worst was this charity.

DON'T GIVE TO THEM. They don't help anyone. They only help themselves.

I will************ NEVER************** donate to any charities that solicit over the pone for three main reasons.

1.  You don't know if the people on the other end really are who they say.  Scammers easily can spoof the caller Id to make it say whatever they want.  

2.  Even if they really do represent a charity, the telemarketers get a LARGE portion of the money collected

3.  It's good to do research on a charity to make sure the majority of the money goes to the cause and a small percentage goes to administrative costs.  It's best to do your research first, then make a payment directly to that charity.

They hung up on me when I said hello. I tried to call the # back several times, but the # won't go through. Jerks.

This is a "charity" that routinely uses spam and scam methods to contact people (robo-calling phone numbers, buying e-mail lists and sending non-stop e-mail solicitations--and don't even try to get them to stop, they use less-than-reputable services to do all of their work).

I don't even know if they really are a charity or just the scammers they seem to be, and don't intend to waste the time to find out. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and mark them as a non-profit.

Look up cgroup_children. They elgl is apart of this community.

This number calls frequently, 2 or 3 times a day and no messages are left. If you google "charity organization Find the Children" you will find there actually is a legit charity with that name. If you go to that "Find the Children" home page you will notice that their actual phone # does not even closely match the 800-274-3463 number left on your caller ID and they are out of California and not Salem, Oregon, as per caller ID states. To me that only means one thing, SCAM.

The best thing you can do to protect yourself against scammers/hackers is to NEVER answer calls you don't recognize on your caller ID, NEVER!!!

By answering those types of calls you are acknowledging, to the scammers/hackers, that your phone number is indeed valid and you will then receive many more calls of the same nature from other scammers/hackers trying to sucker you into what ever kind of scam they are running that day.

I have been receiving calls from 800-274-3463. After some research it appears this is some kind of scam.

This "charity" spends almost all of it's money on fundraising, which means it's really just a scam. I read Charity Navigator b/c I like to check charities before I donate, of course, and Find the Children is being investigated! And it is also true that phone solicitation for a charity is already dodgy I just hung up on them when I heard voices.

Just received a call from this number. Said they were "Find the Children". Told them I already have 3 kids and don't need anymore. then I hung the phone up.

I do not answer any toll free number especially ones that do not identify themselves.

I put these numbers on facebook and email and any place I can think of to expose them as frauds and scams.
