- CarolThey call constantly. I finally answered as I know it is a scam. This call had to originate in India , Nigeria , or some other country . The woman's accent said English was not her first language. She could hardly be understood. I asked how she got my phone number. She started to tell me something about Russia and Romania. Told her to call someone else & stop bothering me.

- County replies to granny of 3| 2 repliesI just beat LVNV FINANCE in court. Theses feeders do not expect people to stand up to them. My Atty even asked why I’d represented myself..finally after THEY asked for a trial date, they send a representing Atty who told me he had no interest in the case and what did I want. I told him a dismiss without prejudice..he agreed and the case was dismissed.
They buy “portfolios”. I asked for my file and every piece of appear that had my signature on it. They couldn’t produce it so they walked away. You’re right, someone else will eventually buy it for a nickel and try to collect and I’ll just start the ball over again - BigA replies to County| 1 replySo, you did not really "beat" them. First you gave up your opportunity to sue them under the FDCPA and make them pay you. Then, the even worse part, is you gave them the opportunity to sue you again. "Dismiss without prejudice" means that the case can be brought again, either by them or someone else if it is still within the Statute of Limitations.
What was that saying? Oh, yeah, Abraham Lincoln Had It Right - “He who represents himself has a fool for a client” - Tygerkat replies to BigAWhich explains why County's attorney wanted to know why he/she represented him/herself.
- Tygerkat replies to Ann mc.I know you likely won't return to see my reply but others will so here goes:
The DNC list is for legitimate telemarketers so those are the "unwanted calls" it keeps down.
As for getting more calls after registering, it's not that they're selling your number, it's that there are more scammers than ever. The DNC list costs thousands of dollars. Scammers aren't going to pay that when they can just call all numbers in a given sequence. - Lauren| 1 replyCalled three times today and left three messages. 12:48pm, 2:04pm, and 3:18pm. Since the robot voice apparently thinks when the voicemail kicks in it is someone picking up, I get half a message. Just to call them back at this number. Getting annoyed.
- ChicagoBurbscalled hourly four times so far starting 1pm. voicemail records only the last part of the robocall.
- Caller: APPLECARE
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- HB replies to KVKAnother scam. Pay us and we will remotely fix you problem. Right!!!! Graduates of Trump U.
- Lauren replies to LaurenHi again. They called another two times to my cell that day but good thing Verizon will block calls for 90 days. Now, today, the same jerks are hitting my home phone. Four times so far, so going to block them again.
