TOTAL SCAM. USAA NEVER SENDS THINGS LIKE THIS.  Their number is 800-531-8722. Verify this ripoff attempt there!!!!!

I received a call from 210-531-8722 a man named Victor who left a message claiming to be from USAA to verify documents for a loan. He actually called twice leaving the same message 2 minutes apart. On the voice mail I was told to call 800-280-5836, so I got the number from USAA and called the number from the website which is 210-531-8722 and spoke to a customer service rep and stated that the number  800-280-5836 is not associated with USAA; this number is out of ASIA.    THIS is a scam.  Although the real number showed up, I suggest do not call that number as a call back..re dial it yourself and always look up the company business address and number on website or even the Better Business Bureau. Scam artist are getting smarter but we must learn to be smarter than them.

If you have any questions, call USAA on a number you know is correct and ask them about any letter/email and see if they need additional info.  You might check the USAA website and see if they have any warnings about this being a scam.
