I never pick up calls from number I don't recognize.  If it is possibly legit they will leave a messsage.  If they do leave a message and the first part of the message is cut off, you know it's a scam, especially if they ask you to "push a number". I think any candidate for President would win if he or she promised to rid us of robo-calls.

Recorded message telling me I can lower my credit card rates by pressing "1" which I did.  When the telemarketer picked up, I asked how I can get 0% on my credit cards.  He immediately responded with a profanity.  I asked to speak to his supervisor at which point he disconnected.  Pure scam.  Reasons: #1: I have never been a PNC customer. #2: I'm on the DNC list. #3: Legitimate businesses train staff to never curse at customers.  #4: Legitimate businesses train their employees to connect to a supervisor when requested.  Now blocked!

Said hello 3 times.  Dead air.  Rather disappointed.  When these scammers call I always press the number to speak to a rep then scream into the phone as loud as I can when they answer.

Criminal scum calling from India via the internet running a credit card interest rate scam.
Spoofing a phone number from PNC bank to try to look legitimate.
This is not PNC Bank, they would never call you like this.
This is one of 100,000+ criminal call centers in India.
They are using a recorded script that is more than a decade old: "This is an important message regarding your current credit card account ...".  You can get this recording free when you lease the robo-dialer equipment.
Looking at the reports, this same innocent PNC number is being spoofed by many different scam call centers with different scripts - all criminal (as are Chase, Citi, etc.).
Foreign criminals do not care about our DNC List, or any of our laws.
Congress must change the laws and require a nominal charge for foreign VOIP calls, to make this unprofitable.

Just got my 10th call for today !  Most of them are to reduce your credit card interest rate!  All from different numbers from all over the nation!  If you listen, ya can tell that they are from India, but Ive had a few from Pakistan!  I so much like to waist their day saying I have to go downstairs to get my ( fake ) card.  I have watched some You tube vidios so have written down some fake card numbers to give them!  These turds run the card numbers fast and get mad saying that its not working or not good!  I ask other questions while giveing them numbers, like what time it is, where they are calling me from. they dont seem to know, so I ask them what time is it in India!  They get mad, cuss and hang up!!

PNC BANK SCAMMER!   Since I bank with them, I saw PNC on the called id. I answered and here’s what it said:
‘ATTENTION, ATTENTION! This is the LAST TIME you will have a chance to VALIDATE YOUR DEBT to PNC.
PRESS 1 NOW’.          Then I hung up and since it was lunch time, my banker was not in. But I will be calling shortly.    I DO NOT HAVE CREDIT CARDS WITH PNC AND DO NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING.
THE RECORDED VOICE ON THIS CALL SOUNDED AMERICAN ENGLISH. I DOD NOT GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO DO DAMAGE!!
