Contact number listed for a "Lauren Phillips" at OnlineVisible.org. Recieved unsolicited email saying they could improve our online visibility. I did not click on any of the links, not even to unsubscribe.

Research on onlinevisible.org revealed that the whois information is blocked (suspect) and the site is only two months old (also suspect) and they are already resorting to spam (strike three). It smells like those calls you always get asking you to "confirm your information to update your free online yellow pages!"

Received email with the above phone number listed for  a 'Lauren Phillips' of 'localevaluator.com'.  localevaluator.com did not pull up any links online; the address in the email I received pulled up a post office box company.  It's fine to have one's official address as a post office box company, but not to have a dedicated email address without a website attached.  I also received this at my personal address and not at my business company address, but with my actual business postal address.  I will include the email without the links and with my contact information redacted.  I cannot figure out how to get complete header information out of AOL; unlike yahoo, hotmail and other 'free' services (let alone paid) AOL doesn't make it easy (or possible?):

Thank you for your posting. It's scary.  I also received an email and a call later from Lauren Phillips.
After reading all the postings here, I noticed she uses lauren@localevaluator.com. And the email she sent me, she uses lauren@localvisibility.org. Beware business owners!!! Don't believe in these kind of stuff through emails and calls from these people. The best thing is to work with known company and locally. You can check out localvisibility.org and try to call the number and you'll see. It's just a message saying that you can leave a message and someone will call you back.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS JUST TO REJECT ANY EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS WITH ALL THESE OFFERS AND GREAT IDEAS AND YOU'LL BE SAFE. JUST LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED BECAUSE YOU ALREADY HAVE A COMPANY WORKING ON IT OR IT'S NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR BUSINESS.

This has scam written all over it.  The idea of her researching the online visibility of Candia small businesses is hilarious.  This is a one traffic light town!  Clearly what she is doing is getting your phone information, then she (or he) will tack on some monthly charge to your phone bill, something  you may not even notice like $10.  It's a big hassle to get it removed.  Don't fall for it!
