My wife was making changes to the account and I received that text so it seems to me like an accurate USAA number, I don't know about other people's experience.

"USAA: An account was added to your list of accounts available for funds transfers. If you didn't authorize this, please call 800-292-8995. Reply HELP for help." - 698722

I got the same message yesterday and I called them I did and had my account at the time but i gave them my ss# I sent the Help message to get help but I got the following message: "USSA account info: USaa .com/mobile or  1-877-632 3002 ...." which fortunately I did not respond.

Received a text from this number saying an account had been added to my USAA accounts available for funds transfer and asking me to call them if that was not correct.  I checked on line and it seems that this is a scam so I am reporting it.

I dont have an USAA account! Its definitely a scam.

They texted me saying my mother (with her name) had been added to my personal profile. Scam. Nice try.

USAA: You were recently added to the personal profile of NICOLE RAE OTERO. If you have questions, please call 800-292-8995. Reply HELP for help.

This is a scam! If anyone received a similar message or any call/text from phone number: 698722 please DO NOT respond, follow the link, or give away any personal information. Be smart do your research.

This number was legit on my end.  I used it and then called the main USAA number to make sure I didn't just give away all my info.  They assured me it was their number and I am actually locked out of my account temporarily from the protocols used in the 800-292-8995 number as intended.

Text from 698722 as follows:

"USAA: ROBERT JAMES VAUGHAN was recently added to your personal profile. If you didn't authorize this, please call 800-292-8995. Reply HELP for help."

What is this?! They're using my son's name, but I'm sure he hasn't authorized any such action.

I received the same text from the same number, also using my son's name; turns out he was trying to get a USAA auto insurance quote. If you are current/former military, your son may have used your name to get a quote also.

Got a text purportedly from USAA telling me that 'another account had been made available for fund transfers', with a number to call / text HELP. Since I don't have any accounts with USAA, this was an obvious phishing scam.

I received a text from 698722 saying that my father was recently added to my USAA personal profile and that I should call 800-292-8995 if I didn't authorize it. I don't have any accounts with USAA so I thought it was a scam, and I called my father to let him know. It turned out that he had applied for a life insurance policy, listed me as a beneficiary, and given them my info, but forgot to tell me. So, in my case, it wasn't a scam.

Received a text:  "USAA: RODNEY A EVANS was recently added to your personal profile. If you didn't authorize this, please call 800-292-8995. Reply HELP for help." I don't know a Rodney Evans and I don't do any business with USAA.

Text message notifying me I was added to the personal profile of someone I did not know. The number to call is not USAA. This is a SCAM!

Received a text from a fake USAA 'short code' number: 868722. The text included an 800 number. Since I don't have USAA, I was very wary & I did some quick research. Most USAA numbers end in 8722, which is what USAA translates to on a phone keypad. So the fake short code is tricky. The text said I was added to the account of someone I'd never even heard of. After reading similar accounts, I've concluded this a scam & will be blocking the short code text number

Got 2 texts that I was recently added to personal profile of MIA Angel DUARTE and another text saying account was added your list of accounts available for fund transfers. Surprisingly they are using the actual USAA telephone number because its showing on their website under debit cards. How can a scam like this go on for so long?

Received 2 text messages saying I had been added to the "personal profile" of both a Melissa Elgin and Regan Elgin.  Don't know either of these people and checked...this is NOT USAA's phone number.  Scam, scam, scam.  Blocked the number.
