- Not stupidOh i had fun with this, every number, Name, date and answer was a lie. Hope they have fun with it.
- Ryan replies to JulioSame issue here. They never addressed me by name or provided me with any information. They just said that since I have been a longtime Verizon customer I was eligible for a $99 rebate. In order to process the rebate they needed my security PIN. I told them that I had recently changed it and couldn't remember it and asked if I could call back. The guy started to get angry and kept asking for my PIN. Then he asked what the old PIN was. I gave him a fake name and a fake PIN and he said it was authorized successfully. SCAM!
- JClaimed to be Verizon saying they were going to credit me $99. My spidey sense said hang up.

- DSame as the others except the rebate was only $49. When he asked for my pin I said nice try, but I wasn't going to give him that. He tried one more time, I declined, and he hung up.

- RCHMAA male with an accent that I had a hard time understanding called, introducced himself as "Blah, Blah" from Verizon Support and said that I was 1 of 1,500 Verizon customers that was being offered a $99 Rebate per month for a year for being a long time customer. He asked me to verify my Security Pin so they knew they had the correct person before he transferred me to the credit processing department, I told him I did not have one, so he asked for my SSN. I told him that I was not going to give that info to him and he then read me 4 digits and asked if they were the last 4 digits of my SSN. I told him that I could not understand him. He then asked for my date of birth. I told him today's date is October 23. He then said loudly NO, I NEED YOUR BIRTHDATE, THE DAY YOU WERE BORN. I just hung up on him. He called back immediately and just started in again as if they phone call had never ended. He did not re-introduce himself, or ask if he was speaking to the correct person, he just started asking for my DOB again. So I told him to hold on a minute. He did, he held for several minutes while I looked up Verizon's customer support number and told him I was going to add in the call to Verizon Customer Support to our current call to verify that he was calling from Verizon before I gave any information out and he hung up on me immediately.

- Tired of thisScammer pretending to be Verizon saying I get $99 for a rebate program. They asked for my pin and I told them I had to look it up. Went back to phone every few minutes to tell them I'm still trying to get it and they just kept on waiting. Figured I'd waste their time like they wasted mine.

- JohnHoggie wanted my PIN number to verify I am me... I told him to pound sand. NO reputable company will EVER call you and ask for your pin number. If you gave out your PIN number contact Verizon and your bank RIGHT NOW!!! and have them lock your account and change pin numbers.

- Carla replies to JIMI love the Detective Johnson response! I am going to borrow that one from you, if you don't mind.
Thanks for the giggle this morning! - CarlaSame situation here regarding the phone number (1-800-295-1614). Unfortunately, I was wiring some security cameras and didn't hear the phone ring. I quickly check all unknown numbers on this site, before I answer.
I think my PIN would have been BR-549 and the caller was speaking to Mrs. Junior Samples (for all of us old enough to remember the show HeeHaw...back when tv shows were worth watching)!
Have a Blessed Day Everyone- Caller: Verizon pretender

- NoelI was contacted this morning from the same phone number, was told I would be receiving a credit on my next bill of $99. All they needed was my pin, name and last 4 digits of my Soc, this is a scam!
The scam is so they can use this info to order tablets, IPads and other expensive devices using your credit through Verizon. BEWARE!!!
If you call that number, they ask for your pin, when you ignore it and wait, they text you a 6 digit pin, ignore that, and they play obnoxious music, finally you get a foreign sounding person who wants all the same info. Once I told her I've alerted the police, I was disconnected, shocker...- Caller: Verizon

- ArlandSaid they wanted to give me a $99 rebate for being a long time customer. They had my maiden name and I gave them fake last 4 of social, they knew it wasn’t right. Kept asking for PIN, told them I didn’t have one but they were persistent. Made up another # and then told him I didn’t want the credit.

- DylanA woman with a strong Indian accent stated that I was receiving a $99 rebate for being a long-time Verizon member. She asked to verify the account manager and I said I didn't know. She said that was fine and I could verify my identity with my Verizon pin. I told her that I did not have one. She said then I would lose the $99 and I said that's fine because I never had it to begin with!

- Sami| 1 replyThis scam is still continuing. I got a call today that appeared as Verizon Tech Support about a $99 rebate for longtime customers. They only wanted one thing... my 4-digit PIN. I refused to give it, and figured that if VZW really had a rebate for me, they would just credit it to my account and not need to know any PIN. Must be a phishing scam, not to mention they would have my ultra-secret PIN!
