They left a message stating that they had existing business and was not a solicitation call.  Probably a brand new number for a collection company looking for money.

This “COMPANY” repeatedly called my house number. My Mother asked what it was in reference to and the man rudely scolded her that he had business to do with me. I didn't answer and hung up because I know that I have no reason for a collection agency to be calling me and especially Bank of America. Recently one of the merchants I used my Bank of America issued check card at to make a purchase was hacked into and my account was frozen as a security precaution. I had to get a temporary check card, until I received a new card. Anyway, to make a long story short, after hanging up this number repeatedly kept calling the house and I didn't answer because I wasn't given any information and the number came up as "Out of Area" without any information on my caller ID. Suppose it was Bank of America and they did want to speak to me why would they have a reason to disclose their contact information? Furthermore, they do not repeatedly call the house and not that many times in a week.

A man by the name of David (with a VERY thick accent) with Bank of America in the "Card Services" department left a message stating that he had existing business with me and that he could be reached at 1(800) 305-6229. In this message that he left he corrected himself twice, yet, another reason for something fishy to be going on because you would think that someone would be able to correctly leave the message on the answering machine if they did it for a living.

Once I finally called back tonight at 11 p.m. there was a BRIEF automated answering machine similar to that of Bank of America's automated machine, but not quiet Bank of America’s automated answering machine. We all know that regardless of which company calls and leaves a message- they leave a general phone number and after several prompts/information entries later do we actually get to speak to a human, very rarely is a direct number...

Well, I sure reached "David" very quickly. He was quick to ask for my SOCIAL SECURITY, etc. I told him that he called me and I wanted to know what department he worked in and what it was in reference to. He then replied that he couldn't give me any information for it was confidential and that I would need to verify some information. I then replied that he needs to take me off of his fraudulent calling list and he insouciantly replied, "I will see what I can do..." ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I received a call from an unavailable number who left a message on my voice mail to call him back at this number.  I did not return the call to this number I am fairly certain that this is just the toll free number for Bank of America's card services.  I have a credit card with them that I had fallen behind payments with due to being laid off from my job a couple months ago.  Instead of calling the number provided I called the direct number that I know is their actual card services and caught up a bit on my payments that way.  When in doubt just call the company directly and verify that the number left on your voicemail is legit.

Hello, I'm Bank of America customer for a long time. Smbd called my cell from unknown #, stating that it's Card services. I called back 1-800-305-6229. It was direct # to BOA customer assistence, it will tell you hold on for next representitive, once you get smbd on a line they will verify some info(SSN, DOB, etc). They need to do that to protect your security. They helped me alot w my credit card, that I falled behind on due to my business be slow. They offered me couple options and one of them really worked for me very good. If they leave this # on your vocemail it means that you are late on your payments and they want to help. It's better to work with them right now before your account will be sold to a real collection agency. Ask me if you have any questions, I will gladly share my experience with you.....
