- n/aGetting a call from this number. When I answer the phone it hangs up. If you call back it states that you can be taken off the list by entering your phone number......hmmmmmm. I am thinking they will take me off their list and sell my number to 800 other companies.
- jasonSame as other commenter. Yesterday received the same callback message on a different 800 number (didn't answer yesterday's, no voicemail).
- Caller: n/a
- Marty| 1 replyI have received multiple calls from this number and when I return the call, it offers the same message as the first commenter above. Not sure if I should put my information in or not - I figure they already have my number - they called ME. If anyone has put their number in to be 'removed' - please post a note on what happened next.

- GregI answered and waited on the phone for a few seconds, it was a call from Global Knowledge that I had signed up for some information a few weeks ago for some CCNA information.
And you know something else, right around the same time I signed up for that CCNA info, I started getting spam email to my office email.. For the past 3 years I have had this email address, I have NEVER received spam to my work email.. now, all of a sudden, the calls AND emails... That's lame.- Caller: Global Knowledge

- LarryYou know I am getting sick a tired of Global Knowledge calling me. Business must be going bad with them. I have received a call from them everyday for the past 2 weeks.

- hates GKglobal knowledge... I signed up for one of their white papers (mistake) thinking it might have some good information (stupid assumption). then I ask them to stop calling me all the time (mistake) and I thought they would, then I got extremely upset and yelled and screamed at them (dumbass assumption), thinking that would stop the calls. Now I have to spend some time and do something more serious.
DO NOT EVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO GLOBAL KNOWLEDGE OR ANY COMPANY CONNECTED WITH THEM. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF [***].- Caller: global knowledge

- MikeRequested some info from Global Knowledge and have been repeatedly spammed by them. Gave them my home address and am now getting junk mail there. I am also getting those automated calls on my cell phone (wrong decision there - should have given the general business number). Not very pleasant to deal with. Won't be recommending their services at work now!!

- rwinksDidn't answer as I have been getting more and more unwanted 800 calls
- Mike| 5 repliesI work for Global Knowledge and here's the scoop:
You may have downloaded a whitepaper from one of our partner websites (techrepublic, techtarget, techweb, etc) and it was related to the services we offer, which is IT Training. We call to merely follow up and see if there is any information we can help you with for IT training. We have a lot of business and management training as well.
If you do not want any calls from us, don't put in your legitimate number into Techrepublic or any of our partner websites! simple as that! You will still get access to those whitepapers and webseminars.
Yes, we sometimes use automatic dialers as the inquiries/followups are much easier to manage. Yes we know about the delay between the time the call connects and the time it comes to me or one of my fellow reps. We know it's annoying too! But just be patient, someone WILL talk to you and all you have to do is KINDLY let us know if you do or do not want info and we'll understand. We are not pushy by any means. We just want to help out with information on our training courses and if you have any goals you want to pursue in the future.
We are at www.globalknowledge.com if you want to see what we offer.
Thanks!- Caller: Global Knowledge

- DK replies to MikeI believe I ended up on the calling list due to going to Cisco Live this year and them scanning my badge.
The problem is that they call, I answer, and a second later they hang up...No representative comes on the line at all. This has happened repeatedly each day for me. So if you really are trying to follow up with potential customers, yadda yadda, I would suggest you guys look into a different system... - Fed Up replies to MikeDoing business with someone does NOT automatically give them permission to sell your number and email address. Phone and email were required for signup, but I never gave my permission for spam. Scumbags!
- Mike| 1 replyGot an unsolicited call from Dawn @ Global Knowledge asking if I needed any training this year or next. Problem is, since September of 2009 I don't think they're allowed to make solicitation calls like this any more, and can face a pretty stiff government fine if complaints are made against them. My caller ID has the phone number they called from (800-307-3588) as well as the call-back number they gave me should I want to call them back (866-259-6742).
Re Techrepublic, I'll follow up with them separately to find out why my information was handed out to others. They obviously don't take privacy seriously.- Caller: Global Knowledge

- Mr Huey replies to MikeA couple of things to consider about calls from telemarketers:
1) The DoNotCall list does NOT cover every possible calling organization; there are rules that allow certain ones to call you regardless.
2) Anytime that you sign up for something, your name goes into a general list and may be passed on unless you "opt out" for such usage. Unfortunately, not every organization is reliable in giving you the "opt out" choice when you sign up. I would go back to the ones that you want to do business with and recheck your account. If it is not obvious, then call their customer support and make sure that you know what your status is.
3) Once you contact any organization to inquire why they are calling, you go on their list and good luck being taken off of it. Supposedly, you have the right to tell them not to call and they should take you back off of the list. However, the reality is that the government will not do anything unless they get an awful lot of calls about this. Even then, they mostly pass the information back to the state where the business is licensed...and the state probably isn't going to do anything that they don't have to.
We just do not answer calls from any numbers that we are not familiar with. If we feel that the number is one we want to deal with, then we enter it into our phone with a name/id that we can recognize. Just a thought. - RobocallI just got a call from 800-307-3588. It was from some Illinois State Senator. Can't remember her name. In any case it was about some Nov. 1 event for a candidate for US Senator, David Hoffman. So, the number probably doesn't belong to Global Knowledge. It's probably some robo dialer calling service that various companies hire to promote their message. Thanks to the Senator's message, I think I'll put Hoffman on my list of people NOT to vote for in the upcoming election.
