after calling the official BoA, I confirmed that it is their fraud and check department. Never provide any information when you answer a phone call. Always give them a call back at the number on their website.

Yes, It's a fraudulant phone number. This poster is correct:
This is a fraud -  phishing attack.  If you answer the text Yes or No They'll respond with a fake 800 number (IN MY CASE 800-317-6345) and direct you to call the number in the text, which is NOT a BOA fraud department.  It's the scammers! They will ask for personal info to either hijack your account or steal your identity.  If you;re really concerned go to BOA's website and call their customer service/fraud number (which will not be the number in the text) and they'll verify ALL THIS.  Don;t believe the posts telling you this is BOA, they're most likely the scammers!

As others have said, this is a legitimate Bank of America number for Check Fraud but ONLY IF YOU CALL THEM. If this number calls or texts you then it is scammers who have spoofed the number. I'm dealing with an auto loan opened in my name and this is one of the numbers I have been given while bouncing around their phone systems trying to get it resolved.

    No BS
This is a COMPLETE SCAM. It's not the phone number for BOA's fraud department. If you call and give them your information, you will find out the ACTUAL number when you have to call BOA because they wiped out your account!

I'm curious. You already know to whom this number belongs so what logical reason do have you to look it up?
