Someone claiming to represent Microsoft, gave me this number to return call so that they could clean my computer for $139.99 of malware, spyware, etc.

It's a scam to gain remote access to your computer to obtain personal information and install their own malware/spyware.  See the article on Microsoft's website about these scams:

Got many calls from them claiming to be from Microsoft Tech Support. I'm supposed to call back so they can walk me trough the clean up and restoring of my PC. But my question is how did they get my name, number and address? !?!?

They did the same thing to me ,only they said they were from Macafee and wanted to sell me a package protection plan. I called My security comp. and they said that it was not them. He said his name was Neil Lawson.

I was called from a number that showed up as 23456789 and they gave me the 1-800 number to call them back. They repreated the same line "This is Microsoft, we have recieved error messages that you have corrupt files."

He also informed me, his name is Roger.
