Polite voice mall to return call

Female caller (Morgan), polite, but did not identify REASON for call. Won't call these people back!

Monotone voicemail from 5135225000, left this number w/ name (Derice) and extension (2146) requesting call back but no explanation.
Web search reveals numerous complaints for poor service, outdated data linked to advertising firm.

My call came at 5:51 PM CT and the message was from "Cindy Davis" and no other info.

Call from "Sue". She was selling ad space on a black and white map for our region. Company is Universal Advertising. Print production numbers are only 1500-2000 a year. They wanted $175/yr to advertise with a 3" x 3" ad that runs for one year. There's space for 40 advertisers and each advertiser gets 20 of the 1500-2000, so 800 just go to advertisers, leaving 700-1200 being available for the public at the Chamber of Commerce (which no one goes to), a rest stop (which locals don't stop at), and she also claims every Remax and Nationwide agent. There are at least 10 Nationwide agencies here and who knows how many Remax agents, no way they're all getting maps. With over 100,000 people in the area, I would be better off to throw the money in the trash or sponsor a little league team. Don't waste your advertising dollars people.

Also got a voice mail from a "Cindy Davis" to call her at 800-322-8224 X2137. No explanation given for the call, did not identify company. I am becoming weary from these types of calls, and I would never return a call from someone who did not state their company name or intent. I believe there is a reason for this: if you research a company before returning their call - you might not actually call. I agree with Dustin's post above - these companies don't do any good for any business but their own. You are definitely better off spending those dollars with a local charity.

Got same voicemail twice now from "Donna" 800-322-8224 X2110.  She did not identify her company or why she was calling. Thankful for this site as now i will not be calling her back!

I'm way too tired to deal with unnecessary callers today.

I knew there was no way the call was local, but I answered anyway and received a very polite woman on the other end identifying herself as Mary Bell.  It didn't sound as if she wanted to divulge a great deal of information about who/why/what of the call, but after making a statement to her about her best options, she was more willing.

Universal Associates, media/marketing.  Like another poster said above, selling ad space on a map, etc.  She named quite a few well-known and much talked about companies in my area and managed to say the area/region name as well.  I took her information, but honestly I have no intention of giving the message to the boss.

I told her that he would call her if he was interested and left it at that.

I do not purchase advertising from outside of my area. THEY certainly do not know my needs better than I. These guys don't give up.

I also got a voicemail from Darice, ext. 2146 requesting a call back with no explanation nor mention of what company she was calling from.  My guess is that if she described the purpose of her call, nobody would ever call her back.

A caller named Donna left me an annoyed sounding message that she has been trying to get in touch with me but I have not called back and that it was a business call. No info about her company or what she was calling for. This time I decided to call back and when I did the phone answered as Universal Associates, I went to her extension and left a message telling her that when she calls back she should leave a specific reason why she is calling and what her company is otherwise I would just think she was trying to sell me something and would not call back. I decided to google the phone number and company name and saw other similar complaints here. I am thankful for the people who took the time to write their experiences. It won't drive me crazy now about not knowing who this is that is aggressively trying to get in touch.

Great to have found this page with similar stories to make sense of the message I received also. Caller ID gave it as a number from my own area code but I've come to realize those are often faked, and in his message the caller identified himself as "Steve Tucker" and gave his callback as 800-322-8224 extension 2127. All he said was he was "calling about that Chamber of Commerce project," about which I knew nothing since I haven't yet had any dealings with my local C of C. I called the 800 number back and the recording identified the company as Universal Associates which jibes with some of the other experiences posted here, and in looking them over I've got a better idea of what might have happened had I called that specific extension back.

I received a call at work today from a woman named "Donna" and left her number of 800-322-8224 extension 2110.  She sounded very "frustrated" and stated she had called "like six times and no one has called me back."  She did not identify the name of her company or the reason for her call.  Your initial reaction is why didn't anyone call her back and how will that affect our reputation.  However, I learned long ago to Google the number and see what others have to say.  I'm happy I did in this situation because it sounds like others have had the same experience.  If you can identify your business or the reason why you are calling, something is fishy.

I also got a voicemail from Donna at 800-322-8224 ext 2110 with a message to call her back.  Glad I googled the number.

My caller was a very smooth "Dan Melvin." Same line - call him at the number at Universal Associates. No reason, no other information. Very shady. Not calling back.

Called 2x demanding a call back. No info on why or the company is.

Darice called and left a message she was polite but gave no info as stated here by numerous people. Needs to leave message so people know not to waste time they probably dont have to buy ad space they certainly dont need.

Ken campbell ext 2101 i talked to him he seemed like a nice guy but i still dont remember to agreeing to anything.  He said he would mail me a copy of the map but now reading this why cant i just go and find one.  Im a little sketch i told him if i saw it and liked it i would pay for it because why not if you get one job it pays itself.  We shall see i will definitely update
