Here's what the machine says.  "Hello. This message is for (doesn't actually say who the call is for), if you are not this person, please delete this message as it is not for you.  This is "machine's name" with Enhanced Recovery Corporation, we are a collection agency", etc....so basically call back if you would like to speak to a debt collector.  

Legally, if you delete the message (they made the offer) then it is not for you.  So write down a transcript of the message, then delete the message keeping a log of when you received the message and when you deleted the message, then any further attempt to reach you can be reported as harassment since they told you to delete the message if "this message is not for you".  Attorney's will love that one.

I have been getting these calls now for more than 5 years. Very monotonous. These idiots will not quit. I have reported them to the do not call list, with no results. These calls happen on a daily basis, sometimes in the mornings, some in the evenings. How does one get rid of these parasites???

They came up with a new invention called, "call blocking." I use it. It is no longer about the debt, to me it is no job. Not thrilled about losing everything in the last few years. I am barely able to keep a roof over my head and the utilities on. I went back to school to get retrained at 56 yrs of age. Have another year to go. Collection agencies want to know how I can go to school and keep a roof over my head and not have a job. I got tired of explaining as I re-start life over again. Learned a lot of valuable lessons in the last few years, one of them being call blocking. It stops all of the early am nonsense as I am getting ready to get out the door. Most of these shoddy companies I turn into the bbb and federal trade commission. I learned to let them do there job and get these idiots out of business. They want to collect more fees etc. The original creditor wipes it off there system and have liability insurance to cover the losses. What they do is collect twice first from the insurance company then from a collection company,making the consumer pay twice. It never gets taken off the credit report no matter how much one complains of  a discrepancy. One is stuck waiting for the ten years for it to automatically get taken off. Lesson learned again, do not use credit. Save the money pay cash for it and it is yours.

replied to FMH   1st. congrats on your life re-start program hope everything works out for you! 2nd. The call block works only untill the companies phone lines have been exhuasted. I have found they like to call from multiple lines. But. your right it does cut down the the annoying calls when you can utilize the call block feature! Also look online to see what your states staute of limitations is for old debts.(i.e could be 5yrs & not 10yrs like most think.. Thank you Suzi Orman for that info.)  Because when & if you dipsute past debts with the credit agencies you will be happy to find out that you dont have to wait 7-10yrs. to have the information removed from your credit history! Which is perfect if you are starting over no matter your age! Now you do need credit at sometime in your life no matter if you save cash or not. It is the way of the world if you try to rent a car or purchase a plane ticket you will need a credit card. Just becareful and learn from your mistakes & try to pass information on to the kids & grandkids about your eperiences in life.. Just thought I would share some friendly advice & wish you a great new start for the next chapter in life! also Thanks for informing people about the call block feature. they are trying to mask there own #.

They try and demand money they don't deserve.

Not going to happen!

List your number with the do not call list (www.donotcall.gov) and when they do call report them to that list.

Received a call from them on the answering machine asking for Roberta Hodd, and giving a reference number (after being told If you are not Roberta Hodd, Please hang up, By continuing to listen you are certifying that you are Roberta Hodd), like who cares if you continue to listen, its my phone number and my answering machine and if I continue to listen that does not make me responsible for her debt), anyway. I called the number and an answering machine said press 1 to report a bad number, which I pressed, then entered my phone number, then was put on hold for 2 minutes.

Gave up and reported them to www.donotcall.gov a good website to list your number(s) on so if scumbags like this do call, the government will get them to stop.

The following may or may not be legal in your state, please check local laws before attempting.....perhaps if people would call these numbers from a pay phone and just leave the receiver hanging after you make contact, it would tie up their phone lines so much that they will not be able to make outgoing calls that may really screw up their business

Just a suggestion.....(course there aren't that many payphones around anymore)

Got several calls from this number.  When I picked up the calls, nobody or no machine said anything.  Just silence.  I am now forwarding calls from this number to Al Gore.

Robo calls to my cell phone for the last three days at exactly 8:20 AM.  Tried to report the number they called as a wrong number from the options provided.  Finally called them back from home #, agent was very uncooperative, said my phone  was breaking up.  Hope they find whoever they were looking for.

Been getting calls from these folks 2-3 times a week for several months.  I don't have any outstanding debts that I am aware of, and am not late on anything.  I've called back - didn't get anyone, and tried lookig them up on the Internet.  I think I'll report them to the Attny General's office too.

Usually don't pick up 800 calls but did today.  Got a recorded voice saying: Stand by for a message from ERC, then a dial tone.  Sorry I picked up and wish someone would do something about these folk.

Same as other complaints left here.  My number is unlisted and there is no recording machine.  The only time I've picked up, I got a stand by and then nothing.  I want these calls to stop. And I want to know how it is that these people get an unlisted number and start calling without a clue as to who they're calling?

We've been getting these phone calls on and off for several months. We never answer 800 numbers but still they're "annoying" to listen to, each time with a different name. I can't understand why the phone company won't let us block 800 numbers. If we're paying for a service we should have the right to block any number that is "annoying".

i think it is wrong to do some thing like that to kendra.
