It is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Act to call after making 1 initial telephone contact.  If you tell the creditor they have the wrong person and the phone calls continue, or if you tell the collector you cannot pay, they are required to send a letter within 5 days informing you of the amount of the debt, the creditor to which the debt is owed, and notifying you that you have 30 days to dispute the debt in writing.  Continued phone calls or failing to send the 5 day letter results in the collector owing YOU a penalty fine.  You should contact a consumer attorney in your area if this abuse is happening to you.  If I can be of any help, you can contact the Fuller Law Firm at (205) 834-8913.

REal Deal Collector replies to the truth
Ok to all those out here that think that you are not obligated to pay a collection agency need to get your FACTS right..... Ok so if you have an unpaid balance with anyone and it gets to a collection agency you are completely liable for the bill and are due to pay the collection agency because they are hired by the person who you initially DODGED paying a bill to begin with to report the unpaid balance against your credit. The problem lies with the consumer not wanting to discuss there so called "HARDSHIPS" with the collection agency, be honest and collection agents will not "BE RUDE" to you but if you clearly are dodging calls and not responding to letters trust me they will find you no matter where you are, if they can't find you, they will surely search there databases and find any and all of your relatives and will call them until someone gives you up...and trust me they do.....Your pissed off cousin/sister/mother will be more than willing to give out your number to avoid calls to there number......dont you think?.And to all that think that by paying the original creditor  you are causing "HARM" or "PUNISHING" the collections agency have it really messed up. To be honest that is even better for the collector working your account because they get "FREE" money because they didn't have to deal with you. Since the account is already in collections the "CLIENT" or "ORIGINAL CREDITOR" is obligated to inform the collection agency that they received payment and at that point the collector gets credit for basically pissing you off and causing you to pay the bill....so see your not really causing any damage....you just made that collector "FREE MONEY" LOL!!!!! LOL!!!!.. HOW IRONIC right? It would actually be to your advantage to pay the collection agency because they have control over the report made against your credit...the original creditor has no access to updating your credit report....and if not updated the collection agency may be reporting incorrect information unknowingly.... The basics of it is PAY YOUR BILLS AND THEY WILL NOT CALL!!!!!!!! Dodge them and they will find you......Pay the original creditor once its in collections your doing them a favor......... LAST and not LEAST..... The law requires the collection agency to only leave vague messages because you wouldn't want everyone knowing your business... if they were to give your info to someone who isnt you it opens alot of doors and the possibility of a lawsuit for third party disclosure.... So honest people they are just doing there job.... If you would have paid the bill on time or discussed payments with the original creiditor..... Thanks for your time and maybe NOW people will know how it works...........

If Debt collectors don't get you to pay before the statute of limitations is up, then they will never be able to collect.  Your credit report is wiped clean of this debt.   Ignore any calls and do not pay at all. I can understand that you need to pay your bills, but these guys will tack on all kinds of charges that is in their favor.  So screw them.

The reason why people don't have money in the first place is because the iLLuminati that control this company want everyone to suffer and are serial murderers. These are the Bush crime family, Rockefellers, Cheney etc. They intentionally steal all the money they can get with their private company they call Federal Reserve which they conned the govt into printing their money supply for the U.S. citizens. This is why Pres. JFK was killed b/c he tried to end their reign over our money in the U.S. They intentionally print more and more money and steal it making our dollars in our pocket worth less and less and make It harder and harder for people to live. So they create debts and give you big houses and big mortgages to keep you living in an illusion of freedom and abundance. Then they print more and more money and your food and gas bills increase. Car costs and costs for everything go up and then you cant pay your bills. These same people own the collection company called the IRS which is unconstitutional as taxes were only supposed to be for the ultra rich. But they conned us through laws and inflated the money to include all of us since a dollar in the 1940's is worth like a penny now so we are considered all ultra rich by 1940 standards, but we are not. IT's all a con. Look up Alex Jones's information at Infowars.com.
