Received a voice mail from this number indicating problems with my Dish Network service.  When I called back to try and find out the situation the operator told me that this was not dish and that they would be happy to switch me over to DirectTV as they were a certified DirectTV sales rep.

Called the place that I had phoned : "Solutions Center"

    They're also using this number:

Reports on that link say the same thing.  Some type of SCAM.  They ask people to turn on their tv's and enter a code. Appears to be a SCAM.  Beware.

Caller with very thick Indian or Pakistani accent purported himself as being from DISH. (This is the old DISH customer support number, BTW.) He said that DISH would be changing their satellite trajectory in a few days and that they would be sending me a new receiver so I could still receive the signal. So in addition to the roar of a loud and huge foreign call center in the background, along with a man whose command of English ranked right up with my ability to do the Limbo, and who knew my name but had to spell it because he could not pronounce it, I was also asked to believe that a new receiver would miraculously allow a fixed DISH to receive satellite signals from a satellite in a different trajectory.

So I hung up and immediately called DISH. Much to my amazement, I learned this is a scam, the caller ultimately asking for a cc number for costs of the new receiver. Incidentally, while I was on the phone with the real DISH Network, the scam called me 11 times. Once I ended my call with DISH, I received four more scam calls, all from different numbers, none of which I answered.

Caller said they were from Dish network. Asked about if we had recently got a new receiver. Didn’t ask much more info. He did have a heavy Indian accent but was polite.

called twice.  no message but had to take time to erase the call from line.  i don't answer unknown calls--usually
a city and state.  this one--dish  purchase corp and 800 #--doesn'r look like a good bet.  DONT ANSWER.  if it
for real, they leave a message.  my bet is the caller is paid per call if someone answers.calls 1220 and 230.
probably set robo machine to dial.

    Buyer beware
My husband received a call on his cell phone and caller said there was n issue with our tv service provider . The caller asked my husband to turn on the tv and press info to display signal on the receiver box. He asked him for certain numbers he saw on the screen and said he was glad to see that there was no issue with his box but the signal would be changing from the satelitte which required a 1 time fee of 174.99 to ensure there was no disruption to the TV working. The caller said he was from directv and they would add a $10 discount to his bill over the next 24 months which would reimburse him fully for the one time fee plus some for inconvenience. During the conversation, the caller asked for the passwork on the account. Funny thing is my husband hardly watches the TV as he says there is too much junk and fake news on it and told them he thought that they were fake news and didnt care if they cut off the service, then hung up. However, I called Directv to see if there was any truth in the call and changed the account password also! it was a scam, fake news strikes again!

I had the same exact experience two nights ago.  But they said they wanted $175 to do the change over from one satellite to the "new" one.  I told him in very clear terms what he could do to himself and the horse he rode in on.  He called back three times and told me that my language was offensive and that he would turn off my reception.  I immediately called Dish customer service and was told this was, indeed, a scam.  It's basically a phishing scam where they try to get your credit card number.
