You need to check your INTELLIGENCE level - calling people idiots or belittling them because you work for a very rude corrupt banking system does not make everyone else idiots!  Navy Federal DOES call people nonstop and their customer service skills are lacking to say the least.  When employees post on these types of sites with misspelled words and a condescending tone it just proves the point so shut up get a life or a real job!

BEWARE!!! This is NOT NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION!!! I've noticed that some of the previous postings are even routing you to the SCAM internet address. Navy Federal bank will never ask for your social security number and their internet address will always begin with: http://navyfederal.org and not be shortened to "navyfcu.org" as listed by one of the previous posts. Please remember to always contact the actual bank and not the number that someone may provide in a phone message. Also it's important to note that if the message is not asking for you personally, more than likely it is a standard message done for the scam. Do not be fooled!

This is NOT the same contact # that they have listed on their website.  My husband & I are both members of the NFCU.  He is contacting them today to see if they have been calling and if not to alert them someone is calling using their name.  We are using the number from their website to reach them.  I would not use this number until you are certain who you are calling.  Even without giving personal information you could be charged a fee without knowing it until you receive your bill.  It's not worth the risk.  BTW, I have had at least 2 messages left on my cell phone from this number.  Each time they never identify themselves.  It comes up on my Caller ID as "unknown".

not only are navy federal credit union mortgage collection agents stupidly ignorant and rude but also very well trained in harassing veterans and active military when a payment is not received. i usually don't call back but i am trying to modify my loan but instead of working with me, they told me to pack my stuff and leave the house!!! i was told the sheriff will come and i will be sued for the difference if in case they foreclose!! for a big company used mostly by military personel, you would think that the regulators would recomment training their staff to be at least compasionate to the veterans but no, that is not the way they were trained! they were definitely trained to belittle people who are asking for help because they could no longer afford to pay their mortgage. they are saying they would rather foreclose on the house than work with people save their home.

i hope that agent that i spoke with will never have to go through with what we are going through with collection agents.... i certainly hope after the yelling and cursing that happened on the phone that it was never recorded to the point that she/he will lose her/his job and be in the same position as we are. because i truly believe that what comes around, goes around....

I got a call last month from a "Private" number and I meant to ignore it but accidentally answered. The person said they were calling from NFCU and after asking for me, rudely and condescending went straight to saying "Are you aware you missed a payment on your auto loan? Any particular reason why you did not make your payment?" First off I simply FORGOT for the first time in many years with them and when I said I would go online that night to make a payment she said "Why don't you make a payment with me NOW. I said I'd prefer to do it online and she said "Then it won't credit it today blah blah blah.." and I had to simply say I was busy and had to go.  I work for a retention department for a very large company with 10 million+ customers and the rules to contacting customers in regards to accounts is to be pleasant, understanding, and NOT condescending. It leaves a very bad taste in the customers mouth. I'm not denying my responsibilities to make payments, but NFCU needs to unblock their number, and train their "harassment dept" to chill out on the abrupt rude tone they are apparently trained to have. That's my .02 cents.

you hit the nail on the head. everyone who is getting called is in default on a loan or credit card, or mortgage. I think the embarrassment of the call is what sparks the anger in their responses.

omg.you people are so funny. You mean to tell me if someone took 20,000 to 400,000 dollars of your money. didn't pay you back as promised you wouldn't call them? THEN when they call you, because you didn't live up to your word to repay as promised. your feelings are hurt?! THEN you still say i will pay you even later? wow.. Get a grip! Be responsible. Accept blame. Learn from it. Move on

I'm an NFCU member, so when I got the message to call NFCU at 800-336-3767 ASAP I was worried and called.  The automated voice asked for my access number or SSN, but I couldn't remember my access number so I punched in my SSN.  I was directed to "Personal Accounts", which was closed for the day.  Afterward, I got suspicious so I called the NFCU ph# on the website.  The man said it IS one of their numbers and they would only call if I owed money, which "you obviously don't" (I have a sizeable savings account and I'm debt-free). I'll update if anything comes of it.

This is a legitimate number and They are calling me every day.  I have a son in law and daughter who are members of the NFCU. I was a member years ago.  The reason is my phone number was given to the Credit Union when he was deployed and daughter staying with us.  It is not a big deal to contact the Credit Union and let them know they have a wrong number. In my case I sent a text to my daughter to let her know they called. I also contacted them and gave them my son in law's phone number. Since he is soon to be a ex. I wanted both of them to know that they were calling.  They called once before and found out someone was trying to charge items on their credit card and wanted to verify it was actually them.  Saved them the hassle of having their account drained.  Don't get irate and scream scam. 1. Either you have a past due account. 2. Your account may have been possibly compromised. 3. They are calling a number that obviously belonged to a member at one time. Let them know.

When I had NFCU accounts I had nothing but problems with them that was 28 years ago. My daughter has been very happy with the service.
As for the asian accent. The Navy has a lot of Filpino serving and Filipino spouses. Anyone in the Navy would know that.
Yes the economy sucks and everyone is struggling.  I am out of work after 21 years with the Federal Govt. Due to a work related injury. After 10 months of no pay and attorney fees. I finally got a retirement at 60% pay cut. All of my creditors have been willing to work with me and I no longer have to dread the phone ringing. By stepping up and taking care of the problem be it your own or letting them know they are contacting the wrong person. The phone calls will eventually stop.

As for them asking personal information, This is what the military uses as identification. Or they did when I was in the Navy.  These agents are looking at a computer screen with all the customers information. Once they realize the information is not correct they Will make any necessary steps to stop it.
When I moved to WA state I received phone calls after phone call from Social Security for a woman and I too went through hell trying to get them to stop.  After faxing them a copy of my phone bill with MY name and number and Nothing matched. They stopped they several times a day call.

    Doing my job
Okay hopefully this answers alot of questions. I'm a nfcu employee with collections. Our number is indeed 18003663767 or sometimes a 703 number. We are calling to collect past due debts. If it's a wrong number, call us back and tell us the situation and you get calls for a person you don't know and we will gladly remove it (depending on the couselor). We call 1-6x a day per delinquent account and yes even work. We call only numbers you have given us. 18003363737 is our 1-30 day deliquency number be glad noones leaving an ext because that means you've been reported out and now dealing with big dog collectors. Also to clear things up it's an auto dialer, any account past due the auto dialer calls, we do no know who we are speaking to or what account is delinquent until the call is picked up by you or voicemail. And please don't take anger and hate out on employees. We are doing our job, we gotta support family and pay bills too. We offer personal finance management and extensions (deferments) on loans as well. Hoped this helped

Continue note- telling us you will pay is not a valid payment so calls won't stop. Setting up a payment via 3rd party ach or internal transfer does stop calls. Also don't fall past due and there will be no issues, like I said before I understand hardship, talking to hundreds of people a day about their financial troubles is hard so call our personal finance management division, if it's short term hardship 1-2 months ask for an extstention. Loan has to be at least 6 months old with 3 solid payments and cannot have had ext in the past unless it was a year+ old. If you don't want us calling work call us to remove it and say you are getting in trouble and possibly termination for too many personal calls at work and we will remove it, if your a non member receiving calls for people you don't know call us and give the number and explain nice and calm it's a new number for you and your getting calls for person who probably had number in the past. Last but no least, if you are in the military we can contact your CO as a last resort so don't let it reach that point.

This is NFCU.  The initial person asks to verify your name and then transfers to an NFCU representative.  You have the option of paying your bill or having them send it to the collection agency.  I spoke to someone the first time and told them to note it on the account that the check is in the mail so they don't keep calling.  Got another 7 calls 2 days later and she was able to confirm that there is a note saying that they were to call on Monday, but it's an automated account, so it's not possible to take the name off until it's either paid or turned over to collections.

Kind of nice that they actually left a message saying that they were who they said they were.  And yes, I was overdue and the check was in the mail.

This is a legitimate number. I had not paid my visa bill for the first time ever and with all the credit card reform that happened in the last year or two, they called me to collect on just the $20 due! I did not call back the 800-336-3767 number but called the normal NFCU number b/c I was not sure if it was scam. They had a record of the call. It was an internal collections call from a mean sounding guy. Seemed a little over the top for a $20 missed payment. Just call the normal number if you aren't sure if it's valid or not.

Got a letter from Mike Keller (Recovery Specialist).  1800-336-3767 X44-338.  Not sure if he worked for Navy Federal Credit Union or not.  He sent me a pay off balance with 4 different payoff options.  I must admit, that I was playing the "game" previously by borrowing money.  However, after I witnessed "Congress" in action, I realized that I am borrowing "my own money" (from the federal government in the form of taxes), then the Federal Reserve (private cartel group) receives it from the Federal government (Taxes) and then charges me fees, interest, points etc.    What a SCAM!!!!!!!!!! Fight back by becoming active at www.freedom-force.org.  You can do something by getting involved in "Project Red Pill" at www.realityzone.com.

Anybody with a PO box is requesting money from me gets attention.  I suspect that the business is a scam.  If they are legit, they should not mind providing their names, supervisors names, physical address, PO box, business license number, BBB affiliate number, local phone number, CEO name and state registered license to do business.  These companies should also be willing to provide "PROOF" that this is your debt.  If ANY of this is not provided, TELL THESE [***] TO KISS OFF!
