Called my phone 2x today. I did not give anyone (not even my mother) my new phone number. How did they get it?

They called.  Left no message.  Nobody except immediate family has my cell number.  Is this random dial?  Can it be stopped?

My money is on this being Edfinancial Services

Who are you

Its ed financial services for student loans. they leave no message and call every day even though i am current on my loan payments..

They call here day and night i tell them no one by the name they ask for lives here they laugh at me i ask them please remove my number i am a older woman and sick

They keep calling my number even though I have told them that I do not know the person they are calling for.  They refuse to remove the number which I have had for over 8 years.

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.

Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit Amazon or similar sales site.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service

* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

* Another option, for both smart and "dumb" cell phones:  Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT.  Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers.  That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact!  You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number!

student loan services telling me I am late on my student loan. They want to help me but I have to give them a credit card #. I am not a student. No student loans EVER!! SCAM

This is EdFinancial. They are debt collectors. They like to harass.
