A woman from Southwest Credit asked to call 800-462-2893 and left her ext.

Some guy calls me from this number asking if I'm "Richard _____ with a social security number ending in ____" Before answering I asked who he was and he said that wasnt relevant and to answer his question.  He asked again and I said "Listen you are calling me so I want to know who the heck you are"--- He said flagrantly "Yes I am calling you and I am calling you with a debt you need to pay from Cingular wireless...is this Richard?" I said "Don't take that tone with me when you call my home what number were you trying to reach?"  He said "the number where you answered your phone" and I said "What number was that"--- He said "Sir I'm not answering your questions until you answer my questions - I've asked you three questions now and you arent answering me... now are you going to pay this debt today or do I have to take it to the State?" I said "Who is this?"  He said "Sir I'm not anwering any questions until you answer mine... is this Richard?"
After realizing he wasnt going to scam me - he said he'd call me back in 5 minutes and never did --- of course.  What concerns me most is that he knew my number (of course) and apparently my address (so he thinks - but he likely googled it or has a phone book)and then he gave me 4 digits of the social security of some Richard guy I dont know.  If he had the resources (like a phone book or Google) to know my listed phone number and the listed address for that number (whether accurate or not) couldnt he also see that no such Richard character resides at that phone number? Was this a scam attempt?  If anyone knows or had a similar experience let me know via post.... thanks...

I'm pretty sure this is Cingular Wireless credit agency. They are very rude, try to scare you, but don't fall for it.

Number keeps calling and not leaving a voicemail.

I got a call from this number yesterday.  The woman left a voicemail that it was a very important call for someone who doesn't live here.

yeah same thing happened to me a woman asking for some guy named jorge kept calling my number and leaving messages and i told her that she had called before and she denied it and answered me rudely. Bah.. . its annoying

I just received a voice message from this number. The woman left a "this is your last chance before we do something" type of message, but never indicated what/who it was about. She listed off some random file number for what the call was referring to, but no other information. She mentioned a second number/ext. to return the call.
I have been contacted in a similar way before, a few years ago. It turned out to be a scam to get more information from me. I ended up filing a police report and contacting all 3 credit report companies to verify the false report against me (They indicated that I had defaulted on a loan.)
I intend to verify that my accounts are all in good standing. I will not return this call.

extremely rude. same guys calls, insisting that I give him my debt card #. I told him that I would not do that but he is non~stopable.

I received a call today from this same number.they were very rude to my daughter.The individual gave her a name and he wouldn't say where he was calling from either.As my daughter questioned him for identity and of course he wouldn't tell her anything, and he hung up on her, too!

My wife and I just got a call from this number saying we owe on a At&T wireless bill of 1000 dollars.  The thing is that we don't and never have had one of those accounts.  

They also asked if I', _____ with my SS number ending in _____.  I also told them I didn't disclose that information over the phone.  The lady said her name was lydia and she wouldn't give out any other information.

When pressed she got angry and she wanted to connect me to her supervisor and I heard the phone get put down on a table or something.  I could hear people in the background, like a warehouse.  Then she hung up.  I called back and she said she'd connect me to the "right" department and they hujng up.

Please report this phone number to the police, they try to still some moneny from you. be aware.

They are collection for AT&T

They are Southwest Credit and collect for cell phone companies like ATT.

I got one from them too.  Check out www.budhibbs.com   This website will really be of interest to anyone who gets these type calls.  Also you can look up names of the bottom feeder "debt collectors" and find out if they are real or not.  Most of them are using the cover of an attorney.  Which is illegal.

This number has called me numerous times in regards to my "past due" cell phone account. THat I still have and I have spoken with my celluar company to verify that there is no such debt. They even went as far as to send me a faulty Cingular wireless for July of 2008. Even though the bills have been ATT for a while now. Dont fall for it. They are just trying to scare you and scam you out of money.

Called my work number...we have caller ID so I Googled it...came up with this page.  They did NOT leave a voice mail.

calls and leaves message about AT&T phone bill, I've never had AT&T so I'm sick of it.

I got a call today and they left a message.  Is it safe to not call them back? Is AT&T really associated with this?

They call here almost daily and leave a message to call them back about an AT&T cell phone bill. We don't even HAVE an AT&T phone.
