Received an email claiming to be from Discover and to call this number regarding suspicious account activity. This email was not from Discover. I forwarded it to their fraud dept.

I received an email from Discover asking me to call this number.  It was in fact the number for Discover security and there had been some fraudulent charges on my card in another state that they thought were suspicious.

Received an automated call from 800-347-4996 the same day I received my new card in the mail. (New card was sent due to suspicious activity on the old account) I called the number and was asked a LOT of questions regarding the new card. I felt uneasy and called 1-800-DISCOVER the next morning. They were very kind and verified that it was indeed Discover Fraud department that I had spoken with and they apologized for making me feel uneasy.

I received an email message to call Discover at 1--800-347-4996.     I was suspicious and called the Discover number on the back of my card.   The Discover Customer Service Rep. told me it was good I didn't call them.   They have this number on a list of phishing scam numbers.

Got a text from Discover with this number on it saying we needed to call right away to verify purchases made on our account. This text came in exactly as the card was being used for gas and a redbox movie. Called the number on the back of the card instead, just to be safe. They did say there was an alert, but that the alert did not say exactly what was flagged this time. They reviewed the last purchases (movie and gas) and when I said those were fine, they took off the alert.  I will keep checking my account this week to make sure that was the only issues.

I got a text message from this number for Disciver card saying there is suspicious activity on my account.....thing is, I don't have a Discover account.

That agent didn't know what they were talking about. I work in the fraud department where we make outbound calls to customers to verify charges on the account and that is the number we leave with customers on voicemails or if they need to call us back. It's a valid number for Discover

That is a valid Discover card phone number. It is to the security department

Just to clarify this is not a phishing scam number this is truly a number from the Discover Fraud Division I just called them this morning and found out my account was compromised. Called the number they left me in my e-mail also which was a different number and they verified this number was legit also and they saw my account had been cancelled.

This is 100% legit. Unauthorized purchase on my cc and thank god for wallet protection!

I do not have a Discover Card so I am not replying to the text.

09/17/2020  10:31am and 10:44am PDT - I received unwanted robocalls from this number.  The second call went to voice mail.  There was no message left.  This number is UNSAFE.
