You need to send them a cease & desist letter via USPS certified or return receipt mail. 800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.

Here is the information you need to send that C&D:

Lost count of how many calls I've received from this number.  It's always the same, a recorded message, "this call is for Joe Blow, if your name is Joe Blow touch 1, etc., etc. etc." Out of curiosity I touched 1 on my dial once and after a few seconds wait was told to hold until the next available agent.  I figure that if it is important enough to want to talk with me, a live person can make that attempt and I'm not going to hang on for whoever or whatever.  From searching this number I've found out it's a collection agency of some sort and not owing anything that is past due that I know about, I'll now ignore all of their calls until they have a real person that doesn't treat me rudely or waste my time.

I get a call from them every so often. I have never talked to them, since I only answer calls from people I know. Whoever had the number before me must be whom they are after.

You're young, don't sweat it for now. It's not a foreclosure or bankruptcy. Maybe when you're ready to buy a home you'll have to clear it up. By then you may be able to just have it removed.

They call me what a bunch of prompts, press one for this, two for that or three for this and then when you hit the prompt they ask you to call them back because they have important business to discuss. They made the phone call so why didn't one of the customer service reps just talk right then and there, why should I call them back

I was contacted by this company and based on the reviews I thought it was a scam. I argued with them for about 10 minutes. Until the woman explained she wasn't there to argue with me only explain the situation and try to help. She stated she could send me a contract I signed and prove I owed the debt. I bit  and gave my email. I received an e-mail with a contract. That I did sign for my last home and forgot about. I called them back and even after I was rude to the women previously and argued I didn't owe. She still helped me make arrangements and even saved me money. She also helped me get removed from my credit after we resolved. Make sure you ask for proof or may cause damage to credit. I don't normally write reviews but I was wrong (Don't tell my wife) and felt bad. I wouldn't want the persons job, but now understand how to better handle matters like this!

Thats exactly what scamming debt collectors do too!

So how did they get it removed from your credit if you are still paying, did they lie to the credit bureaus for you? Does that sound like something a 'legit' company would do?

    Quote:

Its not that easy, they don't just "remove" a report at those credit bureaus, they mark them "paid" if anything, but it still remains on your Credit report.
They only remove reports if you dispute it as an error or incorrect report and prove it was incorrect. Even after your debt is paid, the debt collection company can't remove a report, since it was not incorrectly posted. They would have to admit they posted a report in error, providing information to the Credit reporting Agency showing it was an error and that opens a door for a law suit by you, so I seriously doubt any would do you that 'favor'.

Just got off the phone with them.  Threatening me with judgements, lawyer fees, etc over $300.  Totally rude and pushy, would not give me a payment plan, so I hung up.  DO NOT call them.  I suggest sending them payments in the mail if you receive a letter from them and you know it's something you owe.  I would avoid speaking to these people at all cost.
