- steveThey are Rosental, Morgan and Thomas. A collection agency that Extra Space Storage, (among other firms), hands over accounts that went to auction where they sold the goods in the storage unit/s because of unpaid past due bills that finally resulted in the auction. At that point, Extra Space said the whole account is out of the hands of then and with this collection agency.

- Wanted| 3 repliesThey have been calling me for over 6 months. I had an ADT system installed by "Alarm Team" company in SC. It was one of those $99 for $800 type of thing, but it was actually a good deal, but now I have found the problem, their debt collectors "Rosenthal morgan and Thomas" are a bunch of dang con artist & rude A$$ people. When I signed the contract I saw nowhere on there about that if I cut it off before 4 years I would have to pay a certain percentage, so after i finally blew them off for about 4 months I decided I would try to talk to these people like a normal human being & when I answered the lady on the phone said "Sir you owe US $1400!", my response "The Hell I do" click(slam phone down) <---Vintage phone lol. Then the next day they called, I told the lady to send me a CERTIFIED copy of the contract that way I would have to sign for it & they couldnt just say they sent something when they didnt' She said ok sir we can do that, now after you receive the contract are you saying you will then pay US OUR money?" I said 1st off its not YOUR money if it was anyones money it would be the people who installed my system & in that case I can settle it with them without your help. Well I waited & never got a contract, then they call me about 3 weeks later with "Sir did you receive OUR contract?" I said "No i have not received a certified letter from anyone", she replies "Sir we didnt & we dont send certified letters, we sent it regular mail" my reply "Should have sent it certified, because I didnt get anything in regular mail from you" Which I didnt, so now Im stuck between a rock & a debt collector. Here are a few more personal details that maybe can help you determine where I should go from here 1) 24 years old 2) made less than $14k last year (jobs were nowhere to be found in SC 3) I have moved from SC to IN 4) have a good job now, but only making ends meet 5) Married- Wife is also just barely making it with a part time job SO NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO?? 1) I ignore these people & put my credit in their hands possibly or 2) pay them money for something I didnt agree too just to save my credit. 3) Cuss them next time they call & have my number changed

- Resident47 replies to WantedYour personal and career details are irrelevant. No debt collector is going to send you any dunning material Certified. Collectors have no obligation to respond to your verbal demands for proof, either. You are due a letter with disclosures specified in the FDCPA shortly after your first contact. That's the thing you respond to *on paper* with a dispute and send it CMRR. If you never got that letter weeks later, the agency has handed you a first violation to use in your own lawsuit.

- EF| 1 replyThis is a collection agency for Extra Space Storage. I lost everything I owned because I lost my job in December and could no longer make payments (after never missing a payment in 5 years). I still don't have the money, obviously. I told them as much and they were rude as [***] to me about it. [***] these people.
