solicitation phone call

This guy called asking if I wanted to re-up my SSL certificate and wanted a CC for payment. I told him that i could not give it to him over the phone at that time, that I would need to see an email from him or something first and he would not let me do that. It was real fishy how he told me he needed a CC over the phone and that he could not call me back.

Call was in regard to one of our web site domains.  Caller was suggesting to add Private Listing which blocks the owners name/address/phone number from the whois listing.  Cost $18 for two years.  

Seems that could be handled much more efficently and for less cost and with more security using email.

By phoning you, they remind you how annoying it is to get calls to get  you to sign up for private listing. Won't prevent them from calling for next value-add.

Network Solutions, calling to renew my domain name for me over the phone. The domain is expiring soon.

They called and I didn't answer, they left no message. My domain just expired so I'm assuming they were calling to get me to renew it.

they call all the time and never leave a message.

Actually they were.  I called back and they marked all our domains as (paraprasing here): "Customer does not need any further calls".  They call three times if no answer and on the 3rd attempt, leave a voicemail.

They just called me and hung up on me after I identified myself.
Thanks to this website for all the postings, I will be ready if they call back and ask for me directly.
