They would not stop calling.

They are actually an attorney's office by the name of Eskanos and Adler. They sue for unpaid debt.

Read this exerpt from the Boston Globe's article: "Debtors' Hell (Part 4):
National Crisis, Official Silence":

On Wall Street, debt-buying firms have become coveted investment targets. One publicly traded company in Norfolk, Va., Portfolio Recovery Associates Inc., collected $10.9 million from debtors as recently as 1998. Last year, it took in $191.4 million - annual revenue growth of 55 percent. Portfolio Recovery's profits, which were $402,000 in 1998, soared to $36.8 million in 2005.

The firm's results also illustrate how the industry turns pennies into millions.

In its first decade of operation, Portfolio Recovery purchased 658 debt portfolios with a face value of $16.4 billion - at a cost of only $415.4 million. That's about 2.5 cents for each dollar of debt purchased. It collects, on average, 7.5 cents per dollar.

The extraordinary expansion of the debt sold off for collection is one powerful force behind some of the collection abuses documented in the Spotlight investigation.

As debt is sold and re-sold, companies that buy the right to collect it often know little about the debtor: name, last known address, card issuer and account number, and amount due. That limited picture can cause problems for everyone involved.

I also received calls from this number.  They said the were from Mann Bracken LLC.  I found out that 3 collection compnies murged, Mann Bracken LLC, Wolpoff & Abramson LLP, and Eskanos & Adler P.C.  Mann Bracken will also hire ouside attorneys to represent them.  They will send you a letter and then within 10 days you will get a summons from an attorney telling you a lawsuit has been started in your state Superior Court.  The attorney will put Mann Bracken LLC on the letter but the address is to the attorney that they hired.  (Not sure if that is legal.)

They continue to call me and I continue to call them back asking not to call me.  They ask for an individual that I don't know.

SEND THEM ALTR IN WRITING AND IF THEY DO NOT STOP THEN YOU SEND A COPY OF THE LTR TO THE ATTY GENERAL AND THAN GET A LAWYER AND SUE

RECORD YOU TELLING THEM TO STOP CALLING YOUR PLACE OF BUSINESS ANS THEY MUST IF THEY DONT SUE THEM THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PHONE YOUR WORK WITH A VERBAL NOTICED

CALL THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR AND INFORM THEM ON HOW THEY ARE BEING REPRESENTED TRY TO RECORD THE INFO THEY ARE GIVING YOU THAN YOU NEED TO SEND A COPY NOT THE ORIGINAL TO THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR THAN YOU NEED TO HIRE A ATTY TO HELP YOU WITH SUEING THEM YOU MAY OWE A BILL BUT YOU NEED TO FIND IOUT IF IT IS A PRELEGAL ACCT IF SO THAN FIND OUT WHAT COURT THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED IN AND THAN GET YOU A LEGAL AID ATTY

ITS NOT THAT THEY DONT CARE WE COMPLAINE TO EACH OTHER NOT TO THE ATTY GENERAL OF THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION IF WE AS THE PEOPLE TRY TO SEND OUT COMPALINTS TO THE RIGHT PEOPLE WE CAN GET THESE PROBLEMS RESOLVED AND GET BETTER COLLECTION AGENCY AND BETTER COLLECTOIRS TO HELP OUT THEY MAKE TGHERE MONEY BY SCARING YOU INTO PAYING A BILL THE MORE YOU PAY THE MORE THEY MAKE YOU HAVE SOME COLLECTORS THAT ARE WILLING TO HELP AND YOU HAVE OTHER THAT ARE THERE TO HURT IF EVERYONE WAS PAYING THERE BILLS THEY WOULD BE SO NASTY BECAUSE THEY WONT HAVE TO BE SO HARSH TO MAKE SOME MONEY WE ARE ALL TRYING TO SURVIVE AND THE ECONOMY IS THIS WAY BECAUSE THERE ARE IRRESPONSABLE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD

They call me all day long. |Even nights tis has to stop.

What do you do if they put a lien on your records for someone that is not you, another social security number all together. Isn't that illegal all together?
