- JoeI had the same experience as everybody here. I answered by accident and the guy said my CC was charged $1498. I knew this was a scam. I asked the guy to give me the last 4 digits of my CC just to mess around and he said “I’m sorry sir but I cannot give that information” LOL. As of right now my account is closed and I’m still getting calls with an allege charge LOL.

- PC| 1 replyI have been getting the same automated call for weeks now. Almost daily. And for the same amount 1498. It just says press 1 to dispute. But it gives you no other options. I even pressed every other button to see what it does, and it just starts the automated message again. I called the number back and it starts off like any other automated system. But this one asks you to input sensitive information (cc card number, debit card number, SSN, or taxpayer ID). Most places will have an option to go straight to an operator if you don’t know this information. This one didn’t. I don’t have a Citibank account. The closest thing I have is a Costco and Best Buy cc that it’s borrower is Citibank. I’m glad that I’m not the only one.

- BigA replies to PCWell, you have certainly don't everything in your power to make sure that you are going to get many more calls. Plus, as an added bonus, since you called a toll free number back they now have that information as well so that they can now personalize the calls. Oh, and Citibank is not the "borrower". It is the issuer of those cards and as such is the original creditor as well. Neither Costco or Best Buy have anything to do with the cards other than having their name on them.
- Philip toscsnoI received 2 calls in the past 2 weeks. 1st call I hit one you could immediately tell it was not citi bank. After they told me I had a $1400 activity they asked me my last 4 account numbers. I told them I have multiple citi cards and they hung up!
