This is a phishing scam and they are doing everything they can to mask that they are trying to get your information by pretending to be an actual bank up to and including changing their caller ID to show as the bank's name. They have even gone as far as setting up a phony website. I answered the call and then called my bank and they verified that this is not one of their phone numbers and is a fraudulent phishing call. The bank also verified that I did not have an erroneous charge on my account . Do not pay attention to this phone number, do not give them any information. Always call the actual bank of an unsolicited phone call. Never answer a call that you've received directly. Always take the extra step and go around the back door to verify your account.

They’re using a valid Citibank number to call people! They told me that there was a $1400 charge from Indonesia on my credit card. When they asked if I had a friend in Indonesia that could help me get the money back I told them to just reverse the charge. They hung up. Scammers!

I got a call from 800-374-9700 on Saturday evening at 7:14 on May 15, 2021, an odd time for telemarketers to be calling.  My caller ID said, "Toll Free Call," which is usually a sure sign of a telemarketer.  The caller left a recorded message, "If you did not authorize this transaction please press one to be connected with a Citi fraud specialist for dispute."  What?  I have no idea what this message was about.  I do not have any business with Citi Bank and never had any dispute with them.  This seems like a phishing expedition.  How they got my number I don't know, but scammers may be random dialing everyone in Florida.

Have a good day everyone and don't answer the phone.

Telemarketers sell goods or services.  I doubt that there are very many telemarketing calls going on.  Lumping all calls into one category dilutes the word and also does not correctly identify the calls so that government agencies can classify them.

VM spoof of Citi Bank number. I don’t have an acct there: “_____ $1498 if you did not authorize this transaction please press one to connect with city process specialist for dispute please press one for dispute…”. I have had multiple calls over past week from various numbers with the same robo-voice msg.

Just received a call 800-374-9700 stating unusual charged on the account and press one to speak to someone.  I called back, he asked for last four digits of my credit card. I verified and he asked is this a debit card.  I told him I don’t have a debit card and hang up.  I called the number on the back of my actual card and was told that’s a scam

But on the bright side you happily gave them the last 4 digits of the credit card so that they could start to work with that info.
