Called me too.  Actually connected to Wells Fargo National Bank.  However, the bank knew nothing about this phone number nor had any record of calling me...
Strange.  I've reported it to the bank in hopes of a result.

Just got an automated call stating it was Wells Fargo and that the address on file was not correct and to please call 10800-378-6755.  Obvious a scam after I searched the Internet for the phone number and found this website.  Thanks for the info.

Received a call from this number today.  Left a voicemail.  Voicemail did not identify who the company was.  It only stated that my file was incorrect and may delay receiving statements, etc.  After seeing other reports that this is Wells Fargo, I checked the only card I have issued by them, and that is definitely not the customer service # on the back of my card.  Blocked this # on my cell.

A message from an unknown caller was left on my "voicemail" telling me to update my file or I may have a delay in receiving my statement.  The caller does not identify what company,  just a message to call 800 378-6755.  I received two messages in one week.  Looked up number and came across this website.

The number is Wells fargo and it was a legit call to update my address because my card had returned as undeliverable. I had financed a furniture purchse at Ashley through Wells fargo.

I don't know if this number is legit, but the message did turn out to be legit, from Wells Retail Lending (I also had a new furniture loan).  Here is the deal.  I received several calls from this number.  I did not answer, and a voice mail was never left (suspicious).  Finally after half a dozen calls, I answered and got an autmoated msg saying Wells Fargo needed an address correction.  I called my branch and they said my address was fine (suspicious).  I then called the main Wells cust svc line from the Wells website.  The lady noticed I had a new retail loan and connected me to that dept, who confirmed that in fact there was a typo on my zip code resulting in the wrong city on my mailing address.  My first statement had been returned.  Seems stupid that they didn't just look up my long standing Wells checking/savings accounts to get the correct address.  Anyway problem solved by calling Wells customer service.  I would not recommend anyone return a call using a number provided on an automated greeting.  I did find this website helpful as it reminded me I had opened a new furniture loan about a month ago.  I never knew it was a Wells loan - was thru Becks.

I got this call, called the number back, and provided them with all my information. After getting off the phone, I felt really uncomfortable with this, so I called wells fargo customer service, and had a lady verify that that is indeed a wells fargo phone number.

Like the folks above, I got this line of credit through a retail mattress store, not wells fargo directly.

That is exactly what happened to me. I moved a couple of months ago, so when I got a call (Unknown caller) saying it was from Wells Fargo about a mattress company not being able to deliver mail to me (my card with them is from Wells Fargo), it made sense. However, I didn't return the call until I got an automated message from this phone number saying I needed to call Wells Fargo to update my address. I called them back, gave them all my info, and immediately after felt stupid for giving somebody all that info over the phone. I then called the number on the back of my card. The lady confirmed that phone number was Wells Fargo, but said she would give me the phone number she had for Financial Services for me to check with them. She put me through; the guy couldn't find that phone number as a number in their department (?), but said that it could happen he didn't have access to the phone number used for automated messages. I closed the mattress account, and another one, just in case, but at the end of all this talk, neither of the representatives could give me a clear answer about it being a scam or not (?????). Funny enough, he said somebody had made a correction to my address the day before I actually gave all my info to this person. He advised me to call the number in the back of my card in the future, just to be safe.
To me this is inadmissible coming from a well-known bank. It's obvious they don't even know what is going on in their own bank. I'm definitely calling ONLY the number on the back of my card, and I will be monitoring my accounts in this bank and others for a while.

I had the call today and I didn't answer (like a do a lot of 800 numbers). thought it was weird bc I know of a lot of that stuff going around due to things I've heard about at work. so thinking about it and reading this site made my brain start working. I just got a couch a month ago from Colfax in NC and haven't gotten a statement. just the other day Colfax called to check my address-- which was wrong bc they left out an apartment number. so I updated with her directly. didn't call this number back though bc there wasn't a need to as far as I'm concerned.

Just got the same voice mail. I called the number back. I wouldn't give them any info other than my phone number and the guy said nothing came up. I think this is legit, as I recently accepted a zero financing for a large carpet/linoleum purchase. But I was uncomfortable giving them info because the recording said it was related to "Ike Heating and Furniture." Odd and frustrating. Their process is annoying.

Called saying he was from Dillards and wanted to verify my mailing address and will get my full Social Security number name and date of birth. I told him I did not give out my full social that he called me and he got  rude when I did not cooperate. I called Dillards, and they said that the 800 number he called from was not in their database. SCAM!!

I received a call from this number and they are a legit wells fargo number. Apparently it is the retail service number for financing you do through retail stores who bank through wells fargo. However, when calling this number back (as well as calling the number posted on website) I have found this is not a scam (unless they have an intelligent call redirecting service) since the agent was able to see the original note left on my account from the first phone call as well as my address did actually have a hold on it.
