The reason I get quotes online is to AVOID talking to pushy agents. If I like the price, I will buy online. Cold calling me all day just aggravates me. Do not give out your phone number to esurance.

Indeed this is Allstate's Esurance. In my case it was a legitimate call and they did leave a message, for which I called back and talked to them about my homeowner's policy. From what I see, this may be a legit call or simply a follow up on an on-line quote - all having the same contact number.

while you are contacting your bank and filing fraud charges, you might also want to figure out who has your bank information and is using it to get insurance, not to mention who knows what else.

MON, NOV 16, 2015, 12:54PM - Received call from 800-378-7262 to my unpublished cellphone.  Male caller "Brian from Esurance" left VM saying he was calling for "John" about "the quote from our website" and to either 'call 1-800-esurance to discuss your quote or go to the website to purchase the policy."

I am not John and I did not request a quote from anyone, nor have I been to any insurance-related website or clicked on any such ad.   No one knows my number aside from family and a few close friends.

Its Esurance! If you did online quote they will start calling...

Didn't recognize the number. Picked up, didn't say a word. Silence at first. No "roboclick" that I could hear. When the caller started to speak, I didn't recognize the voice ("Hello? Hello?"), and they didn't identify themselves. Nor did I hear other voices in the background (no 'call center chatter'). They hung up.

It is Esurance,  Called me to follow up on an accident report-my son hit a car this past weekend.   They were just calling to get info to process the claim, so their call to me was legitimate.

Are you sure? It's WAY too easy for scammers to spoof caller id, including LEGIT phone numbers. I would call back directly and make sure just to play it safe.

I checked insurance quotes on the Esurance website. They called me before I left the website. What I get for giving them my favorite number.

esurance telemarketing from an online insurance quote I requested.  They called before I was finished getting the quote. He asked if I had time to go over the quote and I said no. Abruptly hung up.

To comment on a few of the posts against this number:

The caller-id was "TOLL FREE CALL".  I almost didn't answer it.
esurance is no fly by night company, it is Allstate's online car/home insurance arm. Perhaps complaining to Allstate will get results (if enough people complain).
To those complaining of unsolicited calls, perhaps online users (in order to avoid calls) gave them a bogus number which just happened to be yours.

Same as Don't Scam Me above (11/16/15), except esurance caller was "Dick"; he specified an "auto" quote;  and didn't say who he was calling (not my name, nor any other name at all). Call back number he left:
1-800-850-3821. I didn't request an insurance quote and my number is unpublished.

Left a message about an Esurance quote.  Did not ask for one.

This number called during the day didn't pickup then I realized my payment was past due. lol

They called my cell and I let it go to voicemail.  It was in response to auto insurance quote I had requested.  They called several times, and emailed 4 times to follow up.  I checked my voicemail to listen to their message, and there was no message, but a phone rang and connected me to esurance sales representative to try to sign me up.  They now have a program to phone them when you check their message from your voicemail!  Seems that should be illegal. 1/30/17
