800-378-9962

the automated caller said they were Xcel Energy and were about to disconnect my service for nonpayment. They directed me to call them back at 800-378-9962 to prevent them from shutting down my service. I called Xcel Energy and they confirmed that this was a scam.

Same info as edh.   Thanks edh for verifying that

Same for me. Just got a call with an automated voice saying they were with Xcel energy and that my energy services will be shut down due to non payment and to call the number back.

I received the same call and confirmed with Xcel that it's a scam.

I got an automated call claiming to be xcel energy.  It says, "Good day welcome to Xcel Energy this is an automated call to inform you that your account has a disconnect order taking place today due to non-payment history.  Please contact us at 1-800-378-9962 to avoid disconnection sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.  Thank you for choosing Xcel Energy."  This is for sure a scam.

I got robo call from this same number but claiming it was the social security administration and to call back and give last four of my SSN.  They call multilple times a day
