number called our medical office stating they were with Puget Sound Electric, and that someone was one their way to disconnect our power due to failure to pay. We are on auto pay with them, and knew that it was not the case. We called PSE directly, and they had no record of the work order # that was given, or the telephone number they had provided us. TOTAL SCAM DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION.

We received a call stating they were Puget Sound Energy and on their way to shut our power off.  Was given this number to call. I also new our bill had been paid, called the number and the answer system was strange as well as leave a message and call back.  Total scam call

There have been a variety of scams like the one you have described taking place across the country. In fact we had one taking place in our area. The telemaggoter typically asks for payment using a prepaid debit card. They tend to target the elderly and other vulnerable people.

Thank you Jessica. Some one just Called me from same number (800-380-1822) name Michael, and identify him self as LA water and power operator. He said, I failed the last payment and I have to pay $500.86 in Cash!! I clarified that I paid my bill on time also, checked my account online and saw there is nothing due. He respond, there is a glitch in the system and I have to pay first then they will credit it back to my account. if I don't pay in 20 minutes someone is on the way to disconnect power. I suppose to go nearby CVS and pay the bill with some kind of a machine that it is just available in CVS!!!!!! We called LA water and power to verify what is going on but, nobody answered because of weekend. So, We still waiting for that guy to come over!! :)

I just received a call from 1-800-380-1822 asking to speak to the owner of the business. Said he was from Puget Sound Energy and that he was on his way to shut off our power for failure to pay our bill. I told him I know this is a scam and that I was going to be reporting it! I really hope people are not giving them their information and believing their story...Anyone who calls with a Indian accent I don't believe!
