- Charmee| 3 repliesOn August 7, 2019, at 3:59 pm (Eastern), I received the following message:
Voicemail from (800) 391-7839
"Or Soft Services on your computer will stop working by end of the day. Contact Microsoft toll free at 800-391-7839 to renew now."
Clearly an incomplete message. However, the threat is clear. (Do wish my recorder had gotten the first of the message.) Looked up number and it is for a machine shop in CT. I seriously doubt a machine shop called me to advise my computer would stop working. I consider this a threat and will report it. I am so tired of these morons trying tactics like this.- Caller: 800-391-7839

- Ms PinkyReceived the same call, illegible recorded message and threat to end Microsoft account and to call them to renew. I feel it's a scam. I am going to block them after reporting. Unprofessional business.

- AprylJThey must have updated their tactic because I just received a suspicious call from this number stating the $139 charge for an Itunes gift card was successfully charged to my Visa. I know of no real credit card that calls and reports every time a transaction is successful. Mine sure doesn't.
- Caller: They gave no name

- Rick SarvasThis has to be one of the lamest scam calls I've received to date. The caller was pretending to be someone from Amazon informing me that my order of a few hundred dollars of Apple iTunes cards has been completed -- but, that I could still stop the transaction, if I just called the 800 number they provided.
What makes this call so lame is that the caller was actually in a call center, and trying to sound like a text to speech recording with an American accent. The result was so bad that I missed part of the message because I was laughing so hard.- Caller: 800 service
