I just got a call from this no. that i had won a large no. of money. is this legal?????

Nope. I bet they told you you had to pay taxes or some sort of fee before you could get your winnings, right? They probably wanted that payment made with an iTunes or other type of gift card, or perhaps via Western Union. But why would you have to pay to receive a prize?

That phone number is connected with SCAM DEBT COLLECTOR. Do not respond on phone calls and not for scam letter with that number.Report it to BBB.When I google that number show up this website and also Notre Dame University so its a scam number.FAKE.

Again with the "report them to the BBB” the most worthless, useless, toothless organization with no law enforcement powers that exists solely to charge business owners money for good ratings.  They will simply send them a letter telling them that if they pay the BBB money they will give them a good rating.  I have personally seen it happen dozens of times.

Now, how about reporting them to some agencies that can put them out of business?

recieved letter of credit balance $22,000.00 which i have no clue of and first they send me letter using sherwin williams suing me with NY based debt collector address and today I received letter from Boston. It's a scam company using people's address and harrasing them.

Most of what you posted makes no sense. What is a letter of credit balance? Why would Sherwin Williams the paint company be suing you and what is the name and address of the debt collection company?  Did the letter contain what is required by law? What letter came from Boston?

Telling me I have open balance of $11,000 and est creditors balance of 22,000 asking for monthly payment of $330 . Same letter previously had phone number of Sherwin Williams which I ignored few days ago.

This is not a debt collection letter. This is one of the fake debt relief companies that sends letters out. Most people don't read them thoroughly and misunderstand that this is simply a junk mail advertisement.

I just got the same type of letter in the mail from A "Debt Relief Dept. 177 Huntington Ave Ste 1703 #40555, Boston Mass 02115-3153. IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED.  Our Previous attempts to contact you have been unsuccessful. Estimated Creditor Balances $19,000.00"  Yada, Yada, Yada,,,  It doesn't even say who's asking for payment. It says that they can negotiate payment arrangements on my behalf for $9,500 on a 36 Month program of $285.00. By my calculations, that More than $9,500. Anyways, I'm glad I found this post, I have enough stress in my life that has already put me in the hospital. ALSO: I just looked up that watermark that's on the letter "0927U" on the internet, they talk about fake Debt Collection letters being sent out.

Got the same letter as Darren. Only difference is the amount owed. This is a complete scam! DO NOT call or responded to these theives!!
