- Alex| 1 replyCiti MasterCard. They called me every evening but I didn't pickup the phone. Today I decided to listen who they are. They offered an additional program (something related to credit protection) and wanted to know my address for their verification. I told them that I do not provide my home address to unknown parties over the phone "because I do not see him and his employee ID and this is for my protection". He ended the call immediately.

- YVR replies to AlexThanks for letting me know its Citibank Mastercard. They've been calling me about 3 times a day for the last 2 months everyday. Sometimes they block their caller ID too. I know because I do answer but they don't reply for over 3 seconds. I hang up everytime after saying hello 4 times.
- annoyed| 2 repliesI received a call from this number, I didn't answer, and the caller didn't leave a message. I called the number back and an automated voice answered for "Gemma Communications." I was given the option to remove my number from the promotion they were calling about. I did and the automated voice said my number would be removed within 24 hours - let us see if that is the case!
- SM replies to annoyedSame here, Gemma Communications. Called the number and went through their automated number removal.... 24 hours.. we'll see.
- nd4spdRepeated calls attempting to contact my wife regarding her Citibank Mastercard. First time caller blurted out he was with the security department which caught my attention. However, when I suggested he contact her at her work number on file, he insisted on calling back at a later time perhaps in the evening. Another call today, I told them my wife already contacted the security & fraud department to which he replied he's now from the customer service department. I ask for his contact info so SHE can call him back but he said they don't take inbound calls. I called the number registerd on the caller id and I got the "Gemma Communications" automated system. Registered my phone number with them hopefully they'll never call back.

- JonatanCalling me nearly everyday, a lot of time anytime. They try to sell protections for credit cards or mimic credit cards/phone/internet/magasines companies to get your personal information. They do this to resell the information in the black market and to other telemarketeers.
The call is made by a computer that try every existing number in certain areas, and when someone pick up the phone and say something, the computer register the phone number as "VALID" and transfer the call to someone in their firm. This is why we have a 2-3 sec with nothing at the end of the line.
When they try to sell you something and you say NO, the little guy or women doesn't bother to stop his/her speech, until they want to verify all your information. If you say that you want to call back, they will say it's impossible and will propose to call back later the same day (or next days).
Calling back and removing the number do nothing, but confirming that your number is "VALID" and ready to sell to other firms.
The only way to get rid of them when thay have your number, is one of these tricks:
When the other side say hello
- YELL until they hung up
- Say things that they don't like or understand (like S***)
- Slam your phone on the table
- Listen the call and give your local police station like if its your home address, and if possible, give the number too. They will spam the police.- Caller: Gemma Communication
