I called the number back after they repeatedly called my home after 8:30pm and disturbed my sleeping children. As previously stated, the number belongs to Gemma Communications and I went through their automated system for removal of our phone number from their list.- Caller: Gemma Communications

- Callcenter people GET OUT of this tradeKeep calling everyday. Suggested trick. Pick the phone and listen for a while till someone talks at the other end of the line. Then yell and tell the poor callcenter man or woman to leave the hell of a company they are working. They dont do any good to society.

- Zorba| 1 replyI have this number saved in my contacts as Ignore because I know they are a sales company. However, today I answered. She said she was from Gemma Communications, a Canadian company working for Citi Financials, my Mastercard credit provider. As I suspected, this was a sales call for insurance in the event of job loss or accident, they make the minimum payments for you up to 24 months. As I am actually nervous about the financial status of the company I work for, I agreed to sign up after repeating more than once, "So if I am not spending anything, my average daily balance will be zero and I will not have to pay anything?" to which she said yes. I told her I wished I had a statement in front of me to see if in fact the statement says average daily balance is zero, because I know that I actually owe over ten grand (and if I do lose my job, would have trouble making the minimum payments, although I actually was unemployed two years ago and did manage the minimum payments, I am making less at this job so this could alleviate my stress and, yes, I am looking for new work). She provided me very quickly with a 1-800 number to cancel, I had her repeat this number. She also mentioned another company and quickly gave another 1-800 number if I have privacy issues. This number is for another company in Florida. Well this sure is aggravating. And while they may be recording the conversation, I wish I could record it for my own records incase I have made a mistake. I regret not asking to get the phone number for Gemma, from which she was supposedly calling from.

- Zorba replies to ZorbaOh I just realized something. It sounds like the insurance is only based on your average daily balance. Does that mean if I lose my job, and I have spent nothing, and thus supposedly pay nothing for insurance, does that mean insurance does not work? Wish I had asked that.
- ZorbaSo I went home and got a credit card statement and sure enough there is an amount on my average daily balance which means, as I at first correctly thought, is basically the same as 99 cents on the amount that I owe (less than, but still about a hundred dollars). Which means that Gemma Communications lied to me saying that if I did not spend anything, I would not have to pay anything. Which I figured was too good to be true and didn't make any financial sense. And I wondered if they only insured what I spent from now until the insurance kicked in. I called the number Gemma Solutions gave me and I have to call back on Tuesday, because it apparently takes 48 hours to show up in their system. I also want to call the second number she gave for the company in Florida and hopefully be able to backtrack any information that they will receive! This is really my greater concern, that some company in Florida now has my information that maybe they didn't have before. And that now I will receive a lot more solicitor calls.
At least I did have my credit card company put me on a do not call list.- Caller: Gemma Solutions
