Debt collectors LIE - NEVER EVER TRUST THEM.  

Call the hospital directly - also contact your insurance company..  My insurance company sends a statement that tells me EXACTLY what my portion of the bill should be based on their agreement with the medical provider.  So if I get a bill for more than that I can include a copy of my insurance statement with the payment.

I just got called today from that same number, claiming to be Clayton Medical Center.... i was in an auto accident and had been billed, they claimed that it was $2900.00 and that the bills were mailed out every two weeks....I told em, don't expect me to pay it! I never once received a bill.  My next call is to the hospital to find out the truth!

This company is called HealthCare Fiscal Management, based out of Minnesota. They are a contract company who employs "Patient Financial Counselors" to various hospitals around the country. Some employees are actually located inside of the hospital. During my last visit to St. Mary's Hospital in Georgia, an HFMI employee was the person who discharged me.

this number will call my house phone & i get the message on my screen "NO DATA" then it immediately rolls over to my cell # & then no one is there...really getting sick of this...normally if i owe a doctor or hospital bill, they call me or it is paid by myself at the time of service..something needs to be done about these kinds of peope!!!

I did some research and found out this company is Healthcare Fiscal Management, Inc.  Their web site is www.hfmi.com and a couple of phone numbers are listed in their Contact tab:  1-800-282-9323 and 1-800- 584-5545.  Their address is 3440 Federal Dr., Ste 130, Egan, MN 55122.   I called one of the above numbers and asked for someone in collections.  They admitted they have an automated dialer which calls every day.  In our case another person had used our phone number, but there was no way to straighten this out on the 1-800-425-0435 numbers since no one answers.

I intend to report them to NC's Attorney General.  There business practices are irresponsible and should be stopped.

Got a call from this number. They wanted me to pay $100 for a doctor's bill—and they wanted the money TODAY.

I call my insurance who has already paid 100% of this bill, so I think they're scamming me

They call continuously and never leave a message. If this is indeed some sort of bill collector, they should be stating their name and who they are calling for. I don't owe any medical bills so the fact that they keep calling without leaving a message left me no choice but to file a complaint. Voice mail is set up so there is no need for them to keep calling over and over, plus I don't answer calls from 800 numbers or those that are unknown to me.
