- PamI received a call from this number also and did not answer since it was an 800#. No message was left eithe by voice or text. So I decided to look the # up and found these comments. I then decided to call the # and of course received a recording that said "thank you for your interest in verizon wireless and please stay on the line for the next available agent." I held on the line for 5 min. I asked her why they called me. The agent requested my cell# to look at my account, after looking she said I was eligible for 1000 minutes and to upgrade my phone. It is just a sales call. I asked them to not call me again regarding changing my plan or any other "special promotions". She told me that she could not do that as I was a verizon customer and they were calling from Verizon.

- Dr. Johnny Franklin Cearley Jr.I received a missed call on my phone from this number. I called it back and after indefinite holding, I disconnected. I read here that it's a Verizon Wireless promotional call. My contract is up, so I assume it is their customer retention department. I'm thinking about switching to another carrier due to poor customer service, lengthy customer hold times, and high priced calling plans. It seems all my friends have excellent coverage with other carriers. So, maybe verizon's network is not a dominant as they make it out to be... Hmmm. I'M LEAVING YOU VERIZON!! Can you hear me now?

- houtx| 1 replyreceived a (hang-up) call from this number on a landline!!! am not even a verizon customer for cell service. reporting them to both national and local agencies for violation of no call legislation.

- Danny HookI received another phone call today from verizon wireless. They called then hungup on me when I answered the phone. Yesterday when I called them back they said they were promoting Blackberry pearl phone. Today they called again and hung up. So I called and talked to supervisor Roderic who basically said they were calling to tell be about their promotions. He said he would check my # and find out who was calling and correct the problem. I recent this tactic so much that I am thinking about switching to another cell phone carrier.

- StacyHRecieved a call from this line on my cell phone. When I answered it they hung up. I've gotten calls before from Verizon's CS department. I believe this is a retention tactic, as my contract is up as of May and they are trying to keep my business.
Which they won't. They are too expensive, and their tactics of trapping you (any change to the plan results in a longer contract) are ridiculous.- Caller: Verizon

- macCalled via this 800# to my cell. Said they canNOT put me on the DO NOT CALL LIST, even though I AM a Verizon Customer. I admitted I'm likely leaving Verizon for ATT. She respond,"Yea, good luck with that! Do whudevuh you gonna do." And abruptly hung up.
This happens all the time. Verizon calls, are rude, and hangs up you.
Sad that good, even decent, customer service is so dang hard to come by these days.- Caller: VERIZON
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MA55Numerous calls from this number - more than 20 at last count - no message left on answering machine and I have never answered when I've been at home. Based on other posts it's probably Verizon trying to beg me to renew my contract.
- DianeI, too, am receiving these annoying calls from the 1- 800 - 425 -2171
number that everyone else is complaining about. When I answered the calls several times, there was no one on the other end. I ignore it now, but I sure would like to get it to stop!- Caller: Verizon Wireless

- I love this service replies to houtx800 notes is GREAT!!!!!!!!...I would pay for a subscription!!!! This 800 # is from Verizon....also violated my "do not call"....I am not a customer.......T-Mo all the way!!
- StephenA daily call with hangup. If this is Verizon, they are driving me to another carrier with their annoying calls from boiler rooms or worse. Why can't they be business-like rather than just another telemarketer ??
- Caller: Verizon ?

- IanI get calls from this # all the time. I finally put a stop to this and took back control of my phone system. They call and hang up and don't say anything. I run a small biz and don't have time for this. I changed my phone service to http://www.sonictalk.net . Now whenever they call they get a message from me telling them to stop calling and they are not welcome here. I can do this with any number that calls me. You can also forward them to another # like the do not call list. This is really fun. I almost can't wait for someone else to call and hang up on me. I recommend you drop your phone company and switch to http://www.sonictalk.net where you have control of these people. The number for Sonic Talk is 1-866-923-0985.
