That number is Apex CoVantage, the contractor for smart meter installation for MLGW.

They called and as soon as I said my name, they hung up.

Received a call from 800-425-9781, this number with a recording stating it was MLGW stating they  have a message and I needed to press 1. The phone numbers says "800 service" so not sure if it's really MLGW. I'm not going to press 1 because it could be a scam. If MLGW or any business is going to setup a robo call to deliver message to it's customers they should do some from a "company registered" telephone number not some random service. Or better yet you can also deliver message to customers based on some other contact methods you have on file, email address. Some way to let the customer know it's a legitimate communication and not some fraudulent activity.  Maybe deliver the message multiple ways, email and voicemail..

This was a robocall stating they are changing the electric meters out.

I got a call from this number, but did not answer it. They left a voice mail saying that it MLGW giving information about the company hired to change out electric meters, and that they will be doing mine sometime in the next few days. They requested that I make sure my meter is accessible from 8am to 5pm Monday through Saturday. A door hanger will be left on my door when they come and Most customers do not need to be present. For questions, call back to the same number. I had already received notice (email? snail mail? don't remember) that meters would be changed soon, so I am confident this is not a scam.

There was a guy named Don with some kind of senior services something or another.  I gave him hades and hung up on him.

THte phone rings, answer, push (1) one  & the recording says that & nothing more.

The phone rings, you answer, you push (1) one  & the recording says the above stated info & nothing more/less. It's NOT a scam, nor a telemarketer.

It's like they called when they were about to install the first part of the smart meters.

This number is for Memphis Light, Gas, and Water Division. They wanted to inform me they will be coming to change out my gas meter.
